Usually after connecting to the wifi, it automatically opens a link that redirects it to the login page. but because of opera mentioning about me needing to login it blocks the auto redirect making me unable to reach the login page. Could you please either remove the prompt asking me to connect to wifi or fix this.

@leocg I can't even log in because the page is blocked by Opera's prompt to "Connect to Wifi". The wi-fi is trying to reach the login page but opera detects that no internet connection and blocks the page from being displayed.

@specterer And if you try to login using the prompt, what happens?

@leocg by logging in using the prompt, does that mean clicking the "connect" button? If so it just loops back to trying to open the login page, and then showing the "Connect to Wifi" prompt.

I'll add that when I connect to the university wifi, my computer automatically opens the browser with an address that redirects it to another address which will then bring me to the login page. As I made Opera the default browser, it will Opera and then uses the first address, but the redirect to the 2nd address will be blocked by Opera's "Connect to Wifi" prompt.

I wonder if this command-line option https://peter.sh/experiments/chromium-command-line-switches/#disable-network-portal-notification would work for Opera and workaround the issue.

There's this flag opera://flags/#captive-portal-interstitial too that you can mess with. Try disabling it.
