Transferring Standalone/Secondary Installation Between Computers

I have a love/hate relationship with Opera and sometimes do a (USB) secondary installation on the "C" drive and get the settings how I want them and at the same time instal a couple of extensions. As I have several machines I sometimes delete the Opera folder and its sub folders if I temporarily have no need for Opera.. My question, , is their a way to transfer the Opera directory to another machine and instal it in a directory with the same name as before. I am asking this question because at the moment I have to keep reentering my preferred settings manually with each "installation".

So I could download the offline installer and when its set up, delete the new profile completely and replace it with the "old" profile ? Would the couple of extensions I have need to be reinstalled or would they transfer with the profile ? My main (current) issues with Opera are two opera auto updates appearing in task manager sometimes and crashreporter, all these disappear after a time .

I think this could as easily go here, as in a whole new query thread, because I think it is closely related.
I've had to get into the habit of regularly backing up my Opera profile, so that I could use it to repair a
messed up Opera -- on the same computer. I run portable Opera as well as portable FireFox, under
Win 7 x64. I've found that it may be dangerous to have both browsers open at the same time, or
perhaps this is not the only possible cause, but from time to time Opera can become corrupted:
it will open telling me that it has found a duplicate profile in another part of the program's tree structure,
and that I must first eliminate the one that does not belong, or else it can't run. The program's warning
may have said something about the program not having been closed down properly, the last time that
it was run. I don't believe that that was consistently the case. It seems as likely to me that Opera somehow
became entangled with a kindred browser, possibly one that was open., leading to some inadvertent
profile duplication -- in the wrong part of the program structure. (?)If you are wondering why one might have two browsers open at the same time, it comes down to comparative
strengths and weaknesses. FF has the extensions I most rely upon, while Opera seems to handle PDF
better and to have superior printing controls -- to cite a couple examples. I am trying not to have both
open at the same time now, though I don't really think that is the end of this issue. It took me awhile in scrutinizing the directory structures, duplicated profiles, and their respective file date
stamps to get to the point where recovering from this profile snafu could readily be accomplished with
good results. But I think this winds up being applicable to also transferring a backed up Opera profile to a
new installation & / or a different computer. It is possible that this is more in the province of portable apps,
which can have a different structure on the computer as opposed to their installed versions -- I'm not sure.
But I don't recall running into this problem anywhere near as much with other browsers. It would be great if
Opera was inherently more resistant to this. -

@multitasker-5 If your post is just an advise, then it's okay for it to be here. However, if you are reporting an issue, you should create a new topic.

Well, I think it is both, actually. But point taken, and particularly if this becomes a more recurrent issue, I would spin it off into a new thread.
