      @leocg The issue is back with the lastest version of Opera. Unfortunately there is no longer a disable-background-video-track flag in the settings. Do you have another solution?

        This is how Chromium works now, I guess you have to get use to it.

          There must be a way to work around this. I can't believe Opera/Chrome would do this on purpose to thousands of users who watch Youtube or Twitch. It takes more than 3 seconds for the video to resume when the tab is active again.

                I just checked if Chrome has the same issue but it hasn't. Twitch video resumes instantly for me. So this might be related to Opera now.

                  I just found out if you disable hardware accelerated video decode in opera://flags the pause is reduced to about 400 ms.
