I have always connected to opera VPN without problems, but one day I got on and it refused to connect, it stays with that orange "connecting" icon. the data transferred was about 613mb but it is reset in the picture because I reset opera settings in an attempt to fix this, but no. any help would be appreciated. -

I have been having the same issue for the past few weeks. Tried few of the following solutions to have it working,
A. Turning of firewall.
B. Disabling any extensions, if enabled.
C. Clearing of cache, cookies, history, etc.
D. Turning off or adding an exception for opera browser in anti-virus, if available.
E. Updating the browser to i=the latest version. But still the same result. It just shows the "connecting..." and nothing else happens.
Someone please help with a viable solution. -

What geographic regions are each of you located in?
Sometimes the cause of this kind of problem may rest with your ISP (either intentional blocking of the VPN or with ISP server misadjustment), blocking from your national censorship (if any), problems with Opera's VPN servers, problems with certificate/encryption-protocol credentialing for the VPN's https connection, blocking in your computer from anti-malware or its hosts file, a blocking issue in the user's router firmware, or even a problem within your Opera installation (either settings or malfunctions). The most common cause of similar complaints seems to be regional blocking/censorship of VPNs at either the ISP or national level. Most Opera VPN users in the general "Western" world have few such problems.

Operas vpn is a bit naff
they rely on the "its free so its ok if its crap" mentality
ironically i can never seem to connect to this forum thru the vpn
its useful sometimes for certain situations though i prefer tor in those instances -
