      1. There is no option to save to a temporary folder and open automatically when downloading a file, instead I'm being forced to save and open manually. Why is it that Firefox can do it and pretty much none of the Chromium-based browsers can? Though Opera is the biggest offender here, at least Chrome lets you automatically open all files of a certain extension after download (though you can't do it selectively and they're still not downloaded to a temp folder).

This really shouldn't be hard to implement.

      1. I can't have search suggestions both disabled in the address bar and enabled in the search bar. I can have both enabled or both disabled, but not one of them only.

      2. I can't delete individual past searches from showing up in search suggestions.

      3. Ctrl-F shifts the whole page I'm viewing down, which is quite annoying. None of the other browsers I've tried have this problem.

      4. Pressing / in the address bar doesn't give me any site suggestions. Compare to Firefox:

The only reason I'm using Opera and not Firefox is because there's a Chrome extension that doesn't have a Firefox equivalent that I need to run, and I don't want to have two browsers open at the same time.

Regarding 1, there have been requests on it, maybe you could find one of them and show your support.

In Chrome, after downloading a rar file and a zip file, click the the drop-down next to the download and choose "always open files of this type". Then, there will be a new option under chrome://settings/downloads for the feature. It only gives you an option to clear the list and doesn't show the actual list. Anyway, close Chrome.

Use JSONedit to open Chrome's "Preferences" file in its profile directory. Under root/download in the file, you'll see an extensions_to_open string with a colon-separated value like rar:zip.

You can close down Opera, edit its Preferences file and add that string and its value. If that does the trick in Opera, it means that Opera at least supports it and just doesn't have an interface in the UI for it. You can then wish for UI for it in the suggestions forum (add to one of the existing threads perhaps). Until then, you can use this as a workaround.

If it doesn't work in Opera, 😞
