restore passwords

Machine brokedown. Copied Opera folder to another computer and everything is there except saved passwords. How do i restore these?

Saved passwords are encrypted using your OS login credentials, so they can not be used in another computer or by another user. You can only move/copy saved passwords between computers through sync.

@leocg So if I set up my new pc account with same login credentials I should be able to restore passwords? Whats the procedure? Must it be identical operating system?

I don't think so because it's still a different machine.

@leocg OK I think I have most of the passwords in ff so it's not as bad as I expected. How do I use sync in future?

Just login to sync. Don't forget to enable passwords sync, what is not enabled by default.
