New tabs amazingly slow

This is in Windows 10.
If I have an open tab, and click on a link, the link opens immediately.
If I click 'open in new tab', or go to another tab and paste the URL, the link takes about 20 seconds to open.
If I attempt to open a bookmark, it takes about 20 seconds to open.
I have reinstalled Opera, reset settings to default and created a new profile. Same issue.
Other browsers are working fine. -

Issue turned out to be an update to the anti-virus software. No idea why it affected Opera in this way but not other browsers, but tweaking the AV settings resolved the issue. Posting in case others have the same issue.
