I am having this same mismatch between VPN location and language, August 2018, long after the supposed update. It is not just a problem on you tube, but on EVERY website, and currencies show up differently too, making it impossible to use the VPN and navigate the web. WHAT TO DO???????????

I cannot understand why these forum threads about the VPN not using an accurate region/language are from eight months ago and the problem is still not resolved and no official response from Opera. If the consumer does not matter, we are living in communism people.

Because it's not an Opera problem? The sites are guessing the location wrongly, there isn't much that Opera can do.

@leocg that makes no sense because i am selecting a region that is likely to correspond with my native language and currency, so websites should be guessing my location within the selected region. I'm pretty sure Russia and Sweden are not considered "Americas". Furthermore, it would be highly unlikely that every website is making the same guess, unless there is something in the Opera system giving them some indication that I am in Russia or Sweden, because there is nothing in my personal system that would give such an indication. So yeah, it is an Opera problem.

Its actually google effort to counter VPN.
Nothing opera or any vpn provider can do

I have read your responses in the forum and you are not answering anyones question. If I choose AMERICAS why is this language showing?

Because the majority of visitors from the same IP range is selecting that language, so the site is setting that language for everyone using the same IP range.
