Opera Mail stopped working with GMail

I've had the same configuration for years and a few days ago it suddenly stopped working. I double and triple checked settings both in gmail control panel (imap allowed, etc) and the mail account itself (imap.gmail.com, port 993, username/password, etc). I've also tried installing standalone Mail and it still doesn't work. I've enabled logging and all I get is a bunch of

29/05-2018 17:39:57 IMAP#1/1: Connecting...

29/05-2018 17:40:39 IMAP#1/1: Disconnected: Connection closed by server, unexpected disconnect

I have another email account configured in Opera Mail and it works fine.

Please help?

@awpteamoose Other email clients work? Any change if you choose another authentication method? Do you have two steps login verification enabled in Google/Gmail by chance?

Opera Mail stopped being developed since at least five years ago and with each passing days, more are the chances that it will stop working with several email services.

I'm having the same problem with GMAIL website, that don't load, this started to happen after the last Opera update.

I tested with Firefox and Chrome and the site is working.

@leocg Judging by OP's post at https://www.reddit.com/r/operabrowser/comments/8mztnz/opera_mail_stopped_working_with_gmail/, this has been resolved. As in, things just started working fine again.
