Preferences recovery after Windows failure

So my Windows had a critical error that forced me to reinstall and reformat my hard-drive.

Before doing that, I've managed to recover some files (including opera preferences that were marked as .win extensions).

Now, I'm not sure that I'll be able to do anything with that information so here comes my question : assuming that I find those .win files, what should I do with them, as in where should I copy them so that Opera recognizes them?

@sievethemoomoo What version of Opera were you using? There's no . win files in current Opera versions but there used to be in old ones.
However, as far as I can remember, those files were used to save the sessions.

Check Menu > About Opera for the path for the profile directory. This is where Opera saves the data.
