tab click switching

The new tab click taking you to the top of the page is all very well, but what if you are half way down a page, switch to another tab, and then switch back? Of course you don't want to be taken to the top of the page - you want to continue where you left off. I think it would be best to leave clicking on tabs to navigate between tabs.

So how can I turn off this new functionality? It has the potential to be incredibly irritating.

This is not a problem as only active tab clicked navigates to the top.

Right - my mistake. I'm having a problem with my mouse which is double-clicking rather than single-clicking unless I press very quickly. Thanks for your reply.
