Opera asking for google/gmail passwords every time

Opera is my main browser, every time I close it and open it again it is asking me for password and authentication on all my google accounts.
Problem details:
- I use 2-step verification on all my google accounts.
- I use 3 accounts mainly for gmail and my main one for other services too (youtube, google keep, etc).
- Every google service asks me to login.
- I started seeing this behaviour today.
- Every other website "remembers" me.
- Google remembers my accounts but it asks for password and 2-step code every time I restart the browser.
System info:
- windows 10 x64 1703 (fully updated except for 1709s)
- Opera 51.0.2830.26
- CPU Ryzen 7 1800X
- ECC ram
I was able to reproduce the problem on:
- a freshly created USB installation, same computer and opera version.
- a freshly created USB installation, windows 10 VM fresh 1703 no updates installed, same opera version.
These browsers work with no problem:
- VM Ubuntu 17.10, latest firefox and opera
- VM macOS Sierra 10.12.5, latest opera
- Main computer (windows), latest chrome and firefox
I used vmware for the VMs.
