I have noticed Opera Developer is using much more CPU than Opera Stable when there is media content in the page. An page that uses 3% of CPU on Stable uses 10% on Developer. An page that uses 8% on Stable uses 30% on Developer.
When there is no media content I have noticed no significative difference.
Version: 52.0.2845.0 developer

New update - Opera developer 52.0.2850.0
;-)
The change log, and the announcement.
"Today’s developer update for Opera 52 includes some visual improvements for a few elements in our browser. We’ve added a new spinner animation, and improved color shading for the address bar.
New tab spinnerWe would like to introduce a new tab loader animation. The tab spinner will blink, when connecting with the internet, and will spin around during the site loading state. Refresh some of your tabs to see how it looks now.
Color shading correction in the address bar dropdownWe defined new colors for the address bar dropdown to better blend with your choice of light, or dark theme for the browser. Take a look at the new colors for the highlighted cells backgrounds.
Most important fixes:
- Crash when running installer on Windows.
- Crash on startup affecting some users.
- Improve tick image for selected wallpaper.
Known issues:
- Tabs on Windows 7 may become transparent.
- Tabs in Tab Bar are invisible (black) until the cursor is placed on the tab."Chromium is updated to version 65.0.3315.3.

Problem still exists whereby there are huge spikes in cpu usage when trying to list youtube subscriptions...a clean installation was tested without extensions of any nature present but still the problem occurs (Windows 10 x64)
Opera Beta however does not display the same problems.

New update for Linux, and Windows - Opera developer 52.0.2852.0
;-)
The change log, and the announcement.
"Today, we are releasing a Windows, and Linux update for Opera 52 developer, which includes some touch ups, such as refactoring the toolbar buttons. You’ll also find a fix for shortcuts, unable to be renamed by the user.
Known issue: after implementing our new tab spinner in the latest update for Opera 52 developer, we have found a serious bug affecting tabs on macOS 10.12, and older versions. The fix, and the update will be ready on Monday. In the meantime, we recommend installing the previous build of Opera developer, available on our servers, or directly from here."

@l33t4opera Too much design kills the design. I checked the dev version and what the hell did you suggest for the menu design? This black shadow is unclean and ugly. I switched to Opera for it's perfect design... and now you are ruining it in the name of progress! Geez! When it's perfect, there is no progress anymore. Version 50 was perfect. The spinners were perfect, etc. And you ruined it with ugly tab spinners! Geez, I just hope the 52 version will go back to 50 design and that we will dodge this awful shadow!

Tab closing is messed up right now. If I have page 1 in tab 1 and page 2 in tab 2, then click a link in tab 1 that opens up a another tab and focuses it I have the order: page 1, page 3, page 2 which is fine but when I have page 3 active and close it it goes to page 2 (always to the right of that tab) instead of the last opened tab. I think this is a bug since Chrome and Firefox and pretty much any other browser moves to the last opened tab instead of the one to the right.
