Yes, I see now. How strange!
Why on earth would they have removed that?
On Opera 36 the equivalent menu says the same for the top three entries, then "Sort alphabetically", "Save as Speed Dial folder", "Edit", and "Move to Bin".
As you say, the OP should surely be able to still do it in the Bookmarks Manager.

I suppose because it's relatively secondary.

Maybe their thought about the management it's like:

Once you've added some Bookmarks you may want to fix some extra large titles all at once using the Bookmarks manager, then, once fixed you use the Order option.

Because of this it's just on the Bookmarks Manager.

        Despite that,
it would be nice the option to order them all at once, instead of the needing of do it branch by branch.

Yes, as long as it is still there!
@leocg seemed to be implying that you couldn't now do it at all, which would be ridiculous and an enormous step backwards.
I still remember with horror the first attempts at the "new Opera" where there was no traditional bookmarks system at all, just Speed Dials, and the only way of sorting them was manually dragging them around individually! Whoever thought that releasing a browser like that was a good idea needed their heads examining!

            I would understand it,
since the Bookmarks bar is not the only place where you can save bookmarks but you would like to keep them all alphabetically ordered.

At some point you will need to enter on the BManager to reorder other branches so then, it seems an "unnecessary" option, otherwise, it should appears on the SpeedDial menu too.

Well Opera 15 (the first non-Presto rendering engine version) was definitely actually released with no traditional bookmarking system, because Opera's "research" had concluded that hardly anyone still used bookmarks, if you can believe that!
Which version first had a proper bookmarks system again after they finally saw the light I can't remember, but that debacle certainly damaged Opera as a brand without a doubt.

@davehawley It was removed from the menu so I thought it was removed from other places too, but it seems to still be in the bookmarks manager as showed here.

@davehawley Too bad that they have chosen to bring bookmarks back instead of working on something to replace it.

It kinda surprises me that in 2018 people still need to (manually) bookmark a page. And sort it, many times into several folders.

                      What do you mean?
Mouse gestures? To add them where? All in the same folder?

I prefer to avoid the chaos, I prefers folders to organise them, add Tags also would be welcome.

@zalex108 You simply shouldn't need to bookmark a page.

Opera Presto had this feature, what was also the main support base behind M2/Opera Mail, called 'full text index' that allowed you to find out any previously visited page just by remembering its content.
For me it was the best Opera Presto feature and the one I miss the most. Maybe the only one I really miss.

So why not create something similar for Opera Chromium?

@zalex108 The idea of using full text index is exactly to eliminate the needing of sort and, therefore, the use of folders. At the same time it would allow you to create different views for your data.

@zalex108 Yes, like in Opera Mail. It doesn't allow you to create folders but you can create 'views' to see messages that follow a certain criteria.

So you could, for example, create a view to see all (visited) pages that have the word 'bookmarks' on its content.

And all done without the needing of manually bookmarking and sorting those pages.

I well remember the at times quite vitriolic arguments on the old Opera forum when the first Chromium versions of Opera were released with no bookmarking system.
People were either outraged that the system had been removed, or were hailing it as a great step forward and in some cases calling the naysayers "whingers and whiners"!
It got quite unpleasant at times.
Personally I was glad they brought it back, after all the fact that every other browser before or since has had some form of traditional bookmarks/favourites system must mean something.
At the end of the day, you don't have to use it if you don't want to.
I do agree that full search of previously visited web pages' content would be a great thing to have back though, but whether that makes traditional bookmarking redundant is a matter of opinion.
I personally think that you still need to have both. Apart from anything else, if every web page you visit is fully indexed and the information stored permanently, the database will quickly become absolutely massive, with possible negative consequences for browser speed and use of resources, and if you limit the database's size (as you could in Presto Opera) that somewhat limits its usefulness as a substitute for bookmarks as old information will get lost, whereas bookmarks are never lost unless manually deleted.

                                        Same opinion.

Recently I was trying to use that option and realized that does not exist on the new one.
I remember that it was very useful but didn't remember about it even after tried to on OBlink.

But as Bookmarks engine, or the DB is somehow really reduced or with more than 3.000 bookmarks and a Bookmarks file size of around 2.50Mb it cannot compete, is not feasible.

Also, I can not see that for create searches/views as groups/folders for similar but different content, in case you want it grouped but separated.

For example, sport sites to view Live sports and sport sites to view matches already played, you will finally spend more time creating filters than creating two folders.

Despite that, bring back that feature would be much appreciated.

                                        About O15,
Don't remember if O15 took out all bookmarks or kept the Bookmarks bar - I think they just used the SpeedDial -, and off course, I don't like a scrollable SpeedDial, I prefer to have few entries there.

Many people used to complain about it, personally I never had such problems.

I guess it wouldn't be a problem in modern computers.

Maybe but since you would be returning to the pages kinda often, the information would be updated and, therefore, wouldn't be lost.

There could be a partial index system where only the most used words in a page are indexed. It would work like tags automatically generated.

Well, maybe we could have a transition system with both traditional bookmarks and full text index living together.

For example, sport sites to view Live sports and sport sites to view matches already played, you will finally spend more time creating filters than creating two folders.

Maybe, but once the view has been created, you wouldn't need to add new pages to it while in the traditional bookmarks system you have to do it manually.

Don't remember if O15 took out all bookmarks or kept the Bookmarks bar

It had Stash and Speed Dial, that were supposed to be a replacements for bookmarks.
