Hello, I know how to hide the search bar from speed dial, but I can't seem to find any way of changing it to DuckDuckGo. I'm not entirely sure if that's something that is feasible by opera or if it should be requested as an option from DDG itself.

You can't change the start page search field, just hide it.

The search bar on Speed Dial is unnecessary anyway. It takes up a lot of room and the combined address/search bar is all anyone needs.

This has been an issue since day one of opera changing to a chromium based browser engine they've said time and again they were working on allowing you to change the speed dial search engine but so far have failed to enable it despite constant requests to do so

@athlonite I don't remember that they had said that. If they have some commercial agreement with the search engine that you see on start page then they can't just let people change it.

@leocg Then they need to ditch the commercial agreement since it is a clear inconvenience to its users and a reason why despite just installing Opera, why I will likely be uninstalling it. It's a basic feature and its un-changeable? Amateur hour nonsense that says this browser isn't serious.
