Opera mini slower than Opera for Android

Today I downloaded Opera mini on my Samsung Galaxy S4 mini. Just curious. The result was not what I've expected.
Internet pages was loading slower than with Opera for Android and on some websites the rendering/scaling was bad. After what I have been reading about Opera mini I thought it should be faster than Opera for Android, but it wasn't.
So, I delted Opera mini and installed Opera for Android again and everything worked ok on my Samsung phone.
Disappointing test of Opera mini.

So, Opera mini is best suited for old mobile phones with low memory and in countries with slow internet connection?
But even in developing countries most people today have (expensive) smartphones, Iphone or Android phones. And internet connections is getting faster and faster all over the world, so then I don't see the point in Opera mini when Opera for Android is a better browser.

Well, only the dark side is faster, more aggressive. In fact the latency is the main problem. Perhaps it would be better to keep 8080 (and forward 22\8080\1080) port open instead 8081 as for Linux with a proper TCP Window Size/Segment Size algorithm and so on.

I don't know why Opera for Android has better downloading speed. Whereas Opera Mini has the worst speed. It would be great if both speed is equal.
