      error: MFDemuxer: open stream failed
      pipeline_error: DEMUXER_ERROR_COULD_NOT_OPEN

      This is the reason for the video doesn't play. What is causing it may be a mistery.

      Can you see videos on other sites?

          Goto the video, right-click on it and choose to save the video to your dekstop. Then, ctrl + o, browse to the mp4 file and open it.

          Does it play then? If it does, then we at least know your Opera is capable of parsing the file and playing its parts. That would mean then that it's some issue with parsing and playing the bits on the fly while it's streaming. Could be a firewall and or antivirus issue then. Or, it could be a proxy issue.

            @burnout426 yes it does play when i double click it, but it is playing in my video player, not in opera.

            btw, how did you get the url of the video by itself?

            what is ctrl + o supposed to do?

              Right click on the page > View page source sometimes help. You can use an extension too.

              Open a dialog for you to choose a file to be opened in Opera.

                i can't find the url, that burnout426 found, in the page source.

                when i ctrl-o to the file he found opera switches to video player, but nothing plays.

                  @alk4444 It's among a lot of text, not exactly easy to find.

                  Does the video play on Windows Media Player?

                    @leocg i used opera's search and found something close, but the same and it doesn't play properly.

                    yes, the video does play on Windows Media Player.

                          Visit the page and hit ctrl + shift + i to open the developer tools. Switch to the Network tab and check "disable cache". Then, press F5 to reload the page. Then, click the "Media" filter at the top. Then, look for the link to the video in the results, right-click it and copy or open in a new tab.

                            yes, the video does play on Windows Media Player.

                            But, it still doesn't look like you downloaded the mp4 file and opened it with Opera to test playing the file off of your hard drive.

                            Go to here, right-click the video, choose "save video as" and save it to your desktop. Then you need to open it with Opera. While Opera is open, drag the mp4 file to Opera's taskbar button, continue dragging to Opera's window and then release. That'll open it with Opera. Or, do the ctrl + o way in Opera and open it in Opera that way. If doing either of those opens Windows Media Player, then something is wrong.

                                @burnout426 when i drag it into opera, the opera window turns black with a small white rectangle in the middle. the rectangle has an arrow head with 0.00 and a empty progress bar to the right of it. i assume that this is opera's video player but nothing happens.

                                if i right click, inspect element in the black window, i get:

                                /* margin: 0px; */

                                }
                                user agent stylesheet
                                body:-webkit-full-page-media {
                                background-color: rgb(0, 0, 0);
                                }

                                display: block;
                                margin: 8px;

                                  OK. That rules out issues with streaming remotely.

                                  Let's rule out your Opera profile too. Download the Opera installer, launch it, click "options", set "install path" to a folder on your desktop, set "install for" to "Standalone Installation (USB)" and install.

                                  Test in that Opera. If it works fine there, something is just messed up with your original Opera profile.

                                      Okay. I think that means you have to tell sandboxie to give "C:\users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable" and "C:\users\yourname\AppData\Local\Opera Software\Opera Stable" full disk (read and write) permissions, or something like that. I remember someone else on the forums having an issue with sandboxie, but I don't remember what thread.
