Make new tab active

I've just started using Opera. Very pleased with it, but I have a couple of questions. I can't find how to set Opera to always make a new tab active. Ie when you click on a link and Opera opens a new tab, it goes to it automatically, rather than having to click on it.
Is there a keyboard short cut to show and un-show the bookmarks bar. I want it when I start Opera, but then I want the space. It would be quicker than going into the manu.
Many thanks.

My bad, I’ve had it as a shortcut for a long time and did not realize it was not default.
Anyways, it’s easy to customize keyboard shortcuts in settings.
