Opera blocks Downloads (EXE)

Hello,
I have Windows 10 with the newest Opera Version and since today Opera blocks all download files *.exe independend from which source I want to download. It blocks even the opera Download itself, when I try to download Opera again from www.opera.com

I can't find any option to change that and I did not do or change anything on my Windows PC or Opera.

Can't reproduce it here. Check your settings and third part programs.

Thanks for testing. I cannot find any problem. I have no firewall no antivirus software except windows own Defender. My Edge downloads EXE without any problems. I re installed opera several times - no change.

What exactly happens when you try to download an executable file? Can you give a couple of examples besides www.opera.com?

Hi, for example: I try to download the latest Adobe Flash version from Adobe https://get.adobe.com/de/flashplayer/download
I I download the exe opera starts to load and then: Interrupted:Blocked, the file will not saved into the path.

But....If I rename the file in for example flash.file instead of flash.exe Opera will download the file without problems. It seems that only *.exe files are blocked since a few days.

its blocked by the chromium engine not opera actually. so there are no bugfixes

In Opera stable?
No problems downloading here, in any Opera Streams.
Leo hasn't had any problems...

Where does that information?

Try using the Test profile from my signature or go to FAQ and create a "Clean profile" to check what happens there.

I'm getting a blank page on that link. However using https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ I was able to download the installer without any problems.

Did you check with a clean profile folder?
