Opera pages go black

I have an HP-17t laptop running Windows 10. In the past month or two, while browsing in Opera, the page will go black for an instant, then return, as if it blinked. Sometimes the page will go black and stay black. All of the other pages open under other tabs will also be black. Pressing the reload button does not help. Then, I exit Opera and return to the browser to continue working. Either blinking, blackening, or both events will occur at least once during a browsing session. My browsing sessions may last 1-3 hrs. Moreover, these events do not occur during video or audio streaming.
I thought there was a problem with my video screen electronics, but then I noticed there is no such problem while browsing in Microsoft Edge, which makes me think there might be a code error in a recent Opera update.
I'd appreciate any input regarding this problem. Thank you.

As already pointed in other discussions about it, try disabling hardware acceleration.
