Hi all)
Since opera move to a new engine most of it-infr intranet web-services works fine!) so it could be very nice to create a desktop application shortcuts for this sites (like vmware vcenter, zabbix, prtg, sharepoin, owa etc) like you can do with chrome(
is any options to create smthing like this in opera ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --app=https://dc1vc01:9443/vsphere-client/#")?ps: look at this screen, every web console here is a chrome app shortcut http://i.imgur.com/UbAHnbN.png

I fully agree with this. It's an integral part of how I use my browser! Much better than pinned tabs.
Just moving over to Opera now from Chrome, and this is one feature that would make me move back if it's not in development in the next year - it's pretty important for my workflow.

Would love to have this as well, I am always working with many tabs and windows and for apps like music streaming, twitter, or email the task bar is more useful than the tab bar.

Another new Opera user coming over from Chrome, here. Having the application-shortcut feature would make the transition much easier.

You people must all be using Windows (8 or later?). That kind of interface is not present in MacOS. How practical would it be to have Opera with completely different ways of interfacing things for different platforms?

I know this is an old topic, but +1 for me!
I like to have an application shortcut on the taskbar for my work's Onedrive instance to make it feel more application-like, and it'd be nice to do that with Opera rather than Chrome (and so implicitly loading a second browser with all its resource requirements etc).
