. I think there might be a bug
Well, it works for me and as far as I know to almost all users, so I don't think it's a bug.
Try cleaning cookies and cache.
Also, if you are using extensions, try with them disabled.
And check if there isn't any software that may be cleaning your cookies.

I installed it just yesterday, but I cleared the cookies and cache anyway. After that, I logged in to an account saying to remember password, and then I closed the browser. When I reopened it, I was logged out again.
Leocg, do the most users who do not face this issue use Opera or Opera Developer? I used the regular Opera previously, and I never faced this issue either, but it's happening in Developer.
Zalex108, yes, as I mentioned in the post above, I unfortunately already tried that.

I'm a bit lost. What do you mean by portable/standalone installation, and how would that differ from a regular installation? I downloaded and installed Opera Developer here. http://www.opera.com/computer/beta (The second link)

OK, i missed the fact that you are on Mac. Don't know if Opera for Mac has such option on its installer.
Anyway, maybe you can try with a clean profile.

By profile, do you mean an account to log in? I will try that and let you know what happens.

No luck. I logged in to the browser and then signed into an account. When I closed the browser and reopened it, I got logged out of my browser as well. I'm probably better off using the regular Opera version for Mac. I hate to say it, but I have run into two other issues as well, so it sounds like there are things that need to be addressed with Developer for Mac.

Nope, I mean to create a new profile folder (or whatever it's called on Mac).

I see now. I'm afraid I'm not sure how to do that. I am still fairly new to Mac. I am searching in Macintosh HD > System > Library. From there, I do not see a folder of profiles or Opera. After exploring online, I understand that Mac doesn't actually have a program directory visible to the user. A code has to be typed in the Terminal, and I don't know the code.

I mean the actual log in built in to Opera for synchronization throughout all devices, but you were talking about something else.

Understood.

And I apologize for the mess. I'm not sure how to make multiple quotes.

If you change any settings on Opera, is it kept after you close Opera?
It seems that Opera is not being able to save data on profile folder/directory.
From there, I do not see a folder of profiles or Opera
See Opera's Menu > About Opera. There you will find the path to Opera's profile.
And I apologize for the mess. I'm not sure how to make multiple quotes.
Select the text you want to quote and click on the 'quote' (") icon just below your avatar.

Yes, the settings are kept after I close opera.
Thank you for the heads up. I think I may have found the problem. It looks like I'm missing an entire Library folder. Comparing the directory on the About Opera page and my Finder window next to each other in this screenshot, I don't seem to have a Library folder for Users. http://sta.sh/028krlznxmhb I thought there was only one in Macintosh HD and one in System, but according to Opera, it seems there is a third in Users that I don't have.

Just read this discussion, there are the keys to make a clean Opera profile on Mac OS.

I followed your link, Zalex, and I read through the discussion, but I can't figure out how to unhide the files. I see there are several codes to type in to the Terminal, but none of them seemed to work.
I also went into the Go menu of Finder, selected Go To Folder, and I typed the directory of the Opera profile exactly as it's written on the About page of Opera, but I was just taken to my User folder.

Thank you for everyone's feedback, but I'd rather not change anything in my system's directory since I really don't know what I'm doing. I think it's better if I use the regular version of Opera since the account login works and since it is more compatible. I see from that topic that others had that issue as well, so I don't want to do anything that might cause damage. I am sorry to end it here, but I appreciate everyone's assistance.

And I appreciate it. Honestly. It's just that I've dealt with a series of problems on Windows computers in the past (not related to Opera). Now that I have a really good Mac, I just want to be extra careful and not change any settings around.
