Why change google search to DuckDuckGo?

Well, why change is a matter of personal preference, I guess. Anyway, no matter what are the reasons to want to change the start page search, you can not do it.

Your solution does not help me...
It is effective only when this start opera (does not work when you create a new panel)

I only want to change the Google search engine to DuckDuckGo.
(It can not be set somewhere in some file??) Example: Config.xxx ?

I didn't give you any solution, I just said that the search in Start Page can't be changed.

And you can always set up your own search engines which can be used from the address bar. Which is in my opinion a lot easier: just type something, hit enter done. And if you use multiple search engines simply start your search with the right keyword.

For example: "wp stuff to look for" would search on Wikipedia on my end whereas: "b stuff" and "g stuff" would search on Bing and Google respectively. I think this might be easier on you.

Check the Opera settings, browser section, for this kind of customization.
