It can mean one of two things, depending on the situation. If you at some point changed your Sync password, it may be asking for your old password. Alternatively, you can add your own passphrase to your Sync account to prevent people who have access to your computer from accessing your account. (If Opera is asking for a passphrase and you didn't set one up, then it is looking for your old password.)
