IIn the past, my Menu tab was on the Tab Bar, on the left.
But suddenly, it is now above it, taking up a whole bar for itself, and thus reducing the viewable site area.

How can I put it back on the left of the Tab Bar (on the left of Google tab in the above example)?

      Opera 42.0, Windows 10 64-bit Home

        Maximize the window.

It's understood, the window was already on maximum. As an experiment, I tried making the page full screen, but when I went back to (maximized) normal it was still the same problem.

            ADDENDUM

I tried re-installing Opera on top of existing version, but still no change.

Then. I suddenly jerked the Menu tab downwards with the left mouse key. The window became horizontally half-screen and when I restored it to maximum, the problem was solved with the Menu tab back at its normal place.

I suspect, was caused the problem was an unintended similar but opposite move.

I suggest Opera developers investigate how this can happen and eliminate it, as it could occur unintentionally.
