Backspace on address bar caused browser to go back to previous page instead of deleting some text

Since the new opera 40 update, I cannot delete or change webpage address url, every time I hit backspace it goes back to previous page instead

I've been having the same problem. I couldn't fix it myself but until you find an actual solution you could either disable the backspace keyboard shortcut (Settings > Browser > Shortcuts > Configure shortcuts) or hold alt while pressing backspace.

AFAIK they already fixed it internally and the fix should appear in a future update.
