The question is the title itself.

Most probably as nothing seems to be changing at a first stage.

Due to recent news about the current stage of the selling to Chinese Consortium, it seems to me that Opera, the company, will loose almost all, if not all, of the characteristics that configured its activities and products. Including the Opera name for the browser, if I am not misunderstanding.

I imagine that this Forum, now, will not remain for more long, except if Chinese owners decide for its maintenance, hypothesis almost unthinkable. Still more unthinkable would be that would remain any of the current users. Would I be wrong? .

            I guess so. ๐Ÿ™‚

I don't see any reasons for closing these forums. On the contrary, i guess it could be a chance for them to be revamped.

Due to recent English scientific projections regarding recent solar magnetic activity trends, the likely approach of another Maunder minimum as part of the solar emission super-cycle will probably begin to cause global cooling around 2020-2053, much like what occurred in the 1600's. Unless, of course, other scientists' predictions regarding global warming come to pass and things instead heat up. The point? It's all speculative until something substantial actually comes to pass so that we can accurately observe how things truly play out.

So it is with the Opera sale, partial sale, or whatever. Until something actually happens in terms of at least some degree of new ownership having taken over and applied their decision matrices, nobody knows just what will happen with Opera, its product trade-names, these forums, or the browser user responses to what unfolds. Its best to just sit back and enjoy the ride for as long as it lasts...

Incredible: I just know that I know nothing. The only problem would be enjoy the ride. Personally, the performance that I can manifest along the promenade will be suffer it. But this is well relieved by migration. : D

Shame on you, Birdy! Missed out on the apostrophe there, yah? :ninja:

Quinca, relax. As Blackbird said, it all depends on some decision matresses ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Users are linked to OSync, don't think they'll erase them.

May Chinese people bring back old Opera forums as well as an information tool, many users still use Opera 12.18 and M2, lot of tweaks were in those posts.

                        Also as historical heritage.
