Hi,
As a newbie I'm trying to figure out which of these might be most similar (or the best) video downloader to Ant Downloader I used in Firefox?
- Metacafe Video Downloader
- Dailymotion Video Downloader
- Video Downloader Prime
- HD Video Downloader
- Video Downloader Plus
Also, how do I migrate my Firefox Bookmarks to Opera?
Than you so much!

Hi lando242,
Thanks so much.
I'm wondering if after you and others on this list have answered my plethora of questions if it would be helpful to newbies joining the list to load my saved responses as a FAQ for newbies?
That way others aren't annoyed answering the same questions over and over again and newbies could get up to speed a little easier and reduce their initial posts?
In that spirit... would you or any of the other kind listers please share your answers to my following questions?
- how do I create a toolbar of my bookmarks (like you can in Firefox, IE, etc.?
- how can I change home page default so Opera opens to the page or a blank page?
- Videodownloaders: which have you and others found is/are the best of these?
Metacafe Video Downloader
Dailymotion Video Downloader
Video Downloader Prime
HD Video Downloader
Video Downloader PlusThank you and everyone on this list so much for all your kind help.

There is a FAQ in the top of this forum's list of topics but it seems that few people read it. It's a work in progress and is updated often.
Also, new users can go to Opera's help page (menu > help or F1) to get some basic instructions on how to do things in Opera.
how can I change home page default so Opera opens to the page or a blank page?
When Opera start or every time you open a new tab? If the first then it was answered already in the post above mine. If the second then you will have to use an extension.
Videodownloaders: which have you and others found is/are the best of these?
It's kinda subjective. I think the best thing for you would be to install and test a few of them, picking the one(s) that better fits your needs after that.

Hi lando242 - thank you for sharing all that. The home page worked perfectly!
Hi leocg - thank for you sharing the FAQ and help areas.
Is there a way I can share/upload a jpg so you can see what my bookmarks looked like in FF to ascertain if they could look like that in Opera?
Looks like Videodownloaders will be an adventure!
Thanks so much.

Go to the addons page and access the 'downloads' category. Install the first one related to video download and test it.
If you don't like it, remove it and then install the second one. Do it until you find the one(s) you like.
Depending on the page you don't even need a extension to download videos.

@ alvarochente - Thanks for sharing that Video Downloader Pro. What have you liked about Video Downloader Pro?
Did you try FVD Video Downloader and found it to be lacking some way?
My unscientific experiment, before I saw your post, was to download FVD Video Downloader to ascertain if it could handle a YouTube video download and it worked perfectly but perhaps there are other issues it raises or functions or other sites it doesn't play nicely with?
Thanks again.

Hi All, This is a little off topic but related to Bookmarks. In Firefox, Bookmarks are stored in a folder called Profile.
Where/how are Bookmarks and saved passwords to Web sites save in Opera?
Thanks so much!

@ leocg - Right you are! Planning ahead, which files and folders do I need to back up in case of emergency? Is there a file or folder which stores the bookmarked web sites' passwords?
Thanks so much! -

Hi all,
I've loaded the image of my FF bookmarks toolbar folders on to this storage site as http://imgur.com/EchSAzf
I'm wondering if I can make Opera resemble FF with their folders containing bookmarks appearing across the top of the page in the toolbar so you just click on a folder and a drop down list of your bookmarks appears for that folder so you then just click on a link in that folder of your choosing to surf to a saved site as a bookmark?
Thanks so much.

Hi leocg
First, thank you so very much for all your kind and patient help.
It’s been an enormous help in getting me up to speed with Opera which I’m really liking.
I hope my questions have helped others, particularly newbies like me!
I looked in Menu>Settings>Privacy and Security and found cookies but nothing specially about deleting/removing flash cookies.
Is there a way to do that with Opera or an add-on to Opera?
Thank you again.

Flash cookies are cookies related to the Flash player plugin? They are probably part of the cookies for a page or domain so if you remove cookies for a site it should remove those flash cookies too.
On the other hand, since it is a plug-in it may have its own cookie storage.

Have you tried the bookmarks bar?
