Can I change the default search engine

Google is cool I guess, but if I wanted to be using google I'd be on chrome right now. I want to know how do I change the default search engine so when I search for something at the top it doesn't redirect me to google but a different search engine of my own choosing

Yoh can choose one of the pre-installed search engines to be the default one.

I too would like to add my own search provider. Something a bit more privacy minded like duckduckgo.com or startpage.com is what I normally use.
