the VPN - Whats the story?

Hi All,
according to the press reports Opera now has a free and integrated VPN. I have just downloaded Opera and am running Ubuntu, but, under Privacy and security there is no VPN section, does anyone know why? is there a VPN built into the browser at all? I notice there is something called Surf easy which seems to be an add on giving you a paltry 250 mb free. But the press release did say "free and integrated", so how do I activate it?
Thanks,

Thanks again, got it working but the virtual locations are of no use as I will be in France next week and am hoping to be able to get U.K. channells, but there is no U.K. virtual location. Thanks for your help

Type opera:flags into the address bar and hit Enter. Look for VPN in the list - use the search box if you like. Enable it there. Restart the browser, then go to Settings and enable it there. Then it will still only be available in private windows.
OK I did all this and when trying to use Opera VPN in private windows I keep getting this message:
"This site can’t be reached
The webpage at http://java.lambrix.com/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address."
It appears to be not working

Is the message I get when VPN is enabled in private windows, with a new IP address shown.
When I disable VPN everything works normally but my regular IP is shown and not hidden.

I think if you want to test the vpn you need to get the dev edition. I also tried it here.. learned something new.. but it does not work. Try the dev edition. It works and blocked websites from my country.. or better yet.. the websites that block my country work.

bksubhuti, Thanks!
Tested VPN on Opera developer 40.0 and after some initial delay VPN works fine. Opera VPN gives you a choice of 5 counties to choose from which is nice.
Hope Opera gets VPN working on Opera 38.0 soon.

Was VPN disabled again?
VPN was working very well on both Opera Dev 41.0 and Opera 39.0 until a day or two ago. Now when trying to use VPN it just hangs up when trying to connect but never does actually connect anymore.
