@psycedelic windows 10, I ended up moving Opera Gx to my external harddrive. It's the only way I use it now also set as a my default. So whenever it misbehaved I would just unplug the hdd
The way to do this is to export your bookmarks and passwords in Opera. Edge and then you will be probably able to import them in Opera.
Edge is Chromium-based like Opera, so this will work for you.
