@ghast1427 yes, there was. It is still installed on my browser. NotepadGX version 1.1.9 by ssky. But, unfortunately it is not working. I also tried to search this in opera's gamestrip mods, but couldn't find it. Idk, they might have removed it. Personally, I think that notepad was best suited for gamestrip, for writing down quick details while working on browser.

@leocg wine is a program that allowe Windows software to run on Linux, but that doesn't mean an installer will work under it. If you get into the options and choose a Stand-alone install, that might work, but a regular single-user insrall probably won't.

Today, I downloaded Opera GX and attempted to watch anime on Zoro to However, I encountered an issue where the screen would brighten whenever closed captions appeared, and darken again when they disappeared. While seeking assistance from the site's helpers, they didn't experience the same problem. Switching to Chrome resolved the issue. I also checked settings but couldn't find any relevant options, unless I overlooked them. The server I used was Vidstreaming, in case that's pertinent.

@slooshie Count another +1 from me. Seems like a niche shortcut (which is really weird to me but whatever), though so I am not sure whether or not this will every actually be fixed unfortunately. Been over 2 years too 😞 .

Honestly, I would consider this a straight up bug, now that I think about it.
The intended/expected behavior is not actually what occurs here.

Hope they fix it soon. Personally, I'll probably just figure it out with tampermonkey til then.

way late to this post. but if anyone else is having the same problem, mine was doing this because the settings let it start on startup (you can change it in task manager). even though it didn't say it was running in the tasks, it was starting some background process on start up, so I had to disable and re-start before it would uninstall.

I finally found an unlocked conversation 🤦

@leocg I've seen a lot of people in other locked conversations that ask something like "how do i disable speed dial suggestions" and what they mean is: they want to be able to remove the random speed dial things that pop-up. I had this question myself and I realised they are called "promotional Speed Dials, bookmarks and campaigns". I ticked that off and it's fine now, but you seemed to have misunderstood those people who asked about speed dial suggestions. I wish I could tell these poor people how to fix the issue, which I actually understand but I can't because the conversation is locked! It's not even a solved issue and now these people will never know how to solve it. I hope you go back to them and resolve their issue bc I don't have the power to reply in a locked conversation:

@sgunhouse So after the adware scan I did another scan with a different programm and noticed that a specific site would always have background activity when reloading my browser. I then inquired about this and got it fixed with the uBlock extention and a specific block import for it. Now the background activity is no more.

This sadly does not explain why the spam sites randomly opened yesterday, scince the site today only had activity in the background. Scince multiple malware scans didn't find anything besides this, I would still say it was the problem
