Same here, I use the GX Mods and the wallpaper isn't showing up, it's the same blank background, but all of the other mods will work just fine.

@jhonnygat Download the old version from https://get.opera.com/ftp/pub/opera_gx/, and install it while being offline.

Disable the automatic updates (check https://forums.opera.com/post/160273) and, then, go online again.
