Does Opera Max also compress data from streaming music and/or radio apps??
Will it therefore save on data usage from audio like it does for video??
I hope Opera also support compressing audio from known stream media like deezer, guvera, spotify and its friend. we are waiting...
Waiting Opera Max support compressing email and also compressing Image on google play newsstand and some google apps... Really it needed when you're on slow network or roaming... Common opera, don't miss a chance for taking the market... Opera is rising star for now, everyone is keeping eyes on it
In addition to above question I am more interested in VPN that opera create.
I am concerned about data protection and privacy if all my mobile traffic is routed through VPN. Which security and privacy measures opera do ?
Excellent question. No answer from anyone means this forum is useless. From what I can work out, Opera Max is also useless for tethered tablets. Please, somebody correct me if I am wrong. I installed it and it did zilch...
Hello. Can someone tell me how to close the " VPN Activated " notification ? I don't know if it's this notification exactly because I've got the french version of the app.
It's a standard notification and is not related with Opera TOS.
Please let me rephrase the entire question, i.e. put it into another perspective. I hope this isn't even more stupid than before ...
If I run VPN on Android, e.g. Opera Max VPN and use an application using a proxy, e.g. Opera Mini OR Opera (Mobile) with Turbo enabled OR Chrome with "Google Data Saver" enabled ...
Isn't the connection like ... "user > (Opera Max) VPN > (Opera Mini/Turbo) proxy > service"
... rather than ... "user > (Opera Mini/Turbo) proxy > (Opera Max) VPN > service" ...?
That is, assuming the former case, aforementioned Scenario 1+2 make perfect sense. I would anyways still be interested how Opera Max VPN deals with Mini/Turbo traffic (double compression(?)).
BUT ... If that's actually correct, why is Scenario 4 happening? Could it be that "Google Data Saver" is kind of a transparent proxy while Opera Mini/Turbo proxies are "anonymous", i.e. not transparent?
Unless something has changed, I know for a fact that you can configure VPNs on iPhone, and I'm almost certain you can do so on Windows Phone as well. They have their reasons for not bringing it to other platforms, whatever they may be, but lack of VPN integration isn't one of them.
