I agree with 'el3andaleb'. Everytime I try to download something (picture, podcast, ...) an try to save it on my Nokia 929 I receive an error message: "download failed" and nothing happens. Very frustrating. I reported this several times, but nothing changes. With the UC browser no problem.

Unfortunately, I don't think there's anything Opera can do if Google has decided to stop supporting Opera Mini.

Opera Mini uses proprietary technology to achieve this "compression" of data so I don't think you'll be able to deduct what exactly is happening on the server side...

I tried to copy text from a webpage on my Android 4.4.2. However, all the text on the page was marked and I didn't find a way to select what I wanted to copy. The expected result is that the word you point to is marked and you can adjust the size of the selection by moving the end marks.

I too am using Opera Mini 7.1 on my BB Curve with operating system 4.5. It seems to be impossible to cancel or change username and password saved on a web page that is not even bookmarked. The "opera:config" suggestion was very useful because this is the only place on Opera pages where I found this info. I also tried the "fold linklists" suggestion after manually cancelling references to the web page in browsing history. The username and password still persist on the web page despite refreshing and even turning the phone off and on again.
BB obviously provides no clues as to where or how to set the Opera Mini configuration. Any news since November 2013? Thanks!

Manually set your location or "edition" when you go to ign.com

The fact that Opera Mini processes and compresses visited web pages through proxy servers before they are sent to your device can confuse automatic location detection that some web pages use.

Alternatively you could try directly entering the URL for the language version of ign that you want to see. Such as http://uk.ign.com/ or http://in.ign.com/

I tried to post a comment but it didn't post & then the compose field was blank. So I tried "test" & it posted. So then I tried to post this & again, it didn't post, but this time it didn't erase the field. Doesn't work too good.

It's html6test as for yesterday. 😉 Until a month ago Opera Mini doesn't mark more than 51 points but the score doesn't have any importance because servers are doing the hard rendering work using Presto proprietary engine and Pike compiler so Xpress may have another flavor like Bluecoat or Bitemobile proxies. You can compare Xpress with Turbo though.
