@lopro said in Opera VPN for iOS reconnection issue on wifi:
The VPN connections seems on all the time while on 4G, even when the device has auo-locked itself, while on wifi it always has to reconnect whan waking which takes 5+ seconds. Any way to fix ?
I think that's more an iOS wifi thing. Any time an iphone locks/screen blanks, it puts wifi (mostly) to sleep - unless you're running an app that keeps it going, such as tunein radio. (It's apparently a frequently-detested "feature" to save battery life - wifi is steady drain.)
As I understand it, push notifications come in as a tiny notice via mobile data that will wake wifi up very briefly to allow the bulk of the notification through via wifi. The ones who disable mobile data are the ones who most detest it.
I guess Opera could offer a switch in the vpn app to keep wifi alive in whatever way tunein radio does it (it's the only app I regularly use that keeps wifi alive even when screen locked/blanked).
@sagowtham Firefox on iOS isn't perfect and not as user friendly as Safari (which isn't perfect either) but compared to Opera iOS it's a million times better. It's missing some useful features including more security features though, which is a real shame.
Wtf is the Opera team doing with what used to be the best iOS browser?!
I can’t live with this spam “news” shit. I’ll try Dolphin that someone wrote about. Otherwise I guess it’s back to Safari + an adblocker app. But I seriously need my browser to sync with my Mac so maybe I’ll have to abandon Opera for Mac too. Such a shame because that is an amazing damn browser.
I also having trouble of App Crash issue my iPhone. after installing iOS11- but i tried given steps and easily get rid of on issue.

Also seeing those crashes/restarts here on both an iPhone 6S Plus and iPhone SE but only when deleting speed dial folders.
Upgrading to 16.0.3 also restored all of the default speed dials that I had previously deleted. It would be nice if an upgrade/update could honour all of my speed dial preferences and not reinstall the default set each time.
Well i decided to uninstall the app, copying down all my bookmarks first. Then i reinstalled it. I chose to install it from the list of apps i used to have installed and that actually installed the previos version. I thought of just staying with that but i got the message that an update is available so i updated it again and now it doesn't crash. Unfortunately i had to re enter all my bokkmarks and all my saved passwords again. And i still have to deal with all the horrible changes. But it doesn't crash at settings anymore.
