@burnout426 it does sadly. it has its drawbacks. on some website i wasn't able to play music in an implemented player for example. devs fixed it though, so it's working despite the flag being enabled,
Hope this Issue will be fixed soon.
I just updated to vers. 50.0.2762.45 as of 10 Jan 18. Works A-ok. Was getting the same issue: nothing would allow me to access passwords. So things are 5x5 w this user. Hope this helps. Advise getting the new version... John...
New update - Opera developer 51.0.2830.0 ;-)
The change log, and the announcement.
Import bookmarks added in bookmarks manager
To make the Bookmarks Manager an entry point for all bookmarks actions, we’ve added imported bookmarks as a single folder there, together with exported bookmarks available in the expandable menu. All bookmarks imported from other web browsers will be filed in this folder.
Ad blocker improvements
Since we’ve released our native ad blocking feature, we’re still working to improve it. Last week, we added the anti-Bitcoin mining tool as one of the features of our ad-blocker.
With string matching algorithm improvements, our tests have shown up to 13% average performance increase.
Allow all sites to use Flash
Today’s developer update offers now an option to allow Flash to run on all sites without request. By default, Opera requires sites to ask first, before allowing them to run Flash.
If you want to allow all sites to run Flash without prior request, go to Settings (Preferences on macOS) > Websites > Flash.
Opera for Mac now supports AppleScript, allowing you to create snippets for Alfred, or automate your workflow easily.
Chromium has been updated to version 64.0.3282.15.
Thank you for the reply.
Sorry, forgot to mention – OS Win 10 x64.
I did everything mentioned in 'Before posting' before creating this topic, except checking with other browsers – problem was with every webpage I opened.
A few hours ago I launched memtest86 (had three BSODs in a row), and seems I have troubles with one of my RAM sticks (2x8Gb Vengeance, which I bought on 7th of Dec). Since it is very likely to be a hardware problem, I believe we can close the topic.
Sorry for bothering and blaming Opera
New update - Opera beta 50.0.2762.42, and the change log ;-)
The announcement: Opera 50 beta RC with Cryptocurrency Mining Protection.
"Opera’s big number 50 release is edging closer to its stable release. Today, we are delivering the release candidate, which includes an innovative anti-Bitcoin mining feature, extended VR360 support for Oculus, and Chromecast.
So please check Opera 50 beta RC out, and let us know how it works!
NoCoin – Cryptocurrency Mining Protection
Bitcoins are really hot right now, but did you know that they might actually be making your computer hotter? Your CPU suddenly working at 100 percent capacity, the fan is going crazy for seemingly no reason, and your battery quickly depleting might all be signs, that someone is using your computer to mine for cryptocurrency.
This cryptocurrency mining can sometimes continue, after you have first visited the site. But we, as the only major browser with an integrated ad blocker, have a built-in solution to keep miners from trespassing onto your machine.
After we recently updated the rules for our built-in ad blocker mechanism, we eliminated cryptocurrency mining scripts, that overuse your device’s computing ability. Simply enable Opera’s ad blocker to prevent cryptocurrency mining sites from doing their dirty work on your computer.
You can find, and change "NoCoin" in Settings (Preferences on macOS) > Basic > Block ads, and under the Recommended lists of ad filters.
With "NoCoin" turned on, webpages, that have embedded cryptocurrency mining scripts, will be blocked in a similar way in which our mechanism blocks ads.
Have fun testing, and Happy Holidays!"
The Chromium is updated to version 63.0.3239.84.
