You cannot add new
What you're seeing is just a transitory space to check your old bookmarks. From there you can actually import them into the browser.

I think you're given the choice to import them to the Speed Dial or the bookmarks bar if you enable it in the settings.
How to import bookmarks in Opera??

The Bookmark importer in More tools is grayed out.
If for some reason, the "Bookmark Importer" doesn't work for you, then you can try to use, one of the tips, provided here.

Automatic update - probably. Opera recently updated the stable version to 20. Though why that should ... I don't suppose you've enabled Sync? Only thing I can think of which would cause speed dial to load slowly is Opera trying to sync your speed dials.

Which version of Opera? It's working here with both 21.0.1419.0 and 20.0.1387.64.
After BSOD, Windows (XP) made me use Check disc,it deleted Index.ini & I lost my Opera Lables & tree

IMAP is OK but I don't trust web mail to retain my stuff. I use POP3 with Thunderbird. I automatically back up my Thunderbird profile every three days while retaining my mail messages on the server for 21 days.

To lose any of my email would require two simultaneous points of failure, my disk and the server on the web.

Hahaha, yeah, and of course you'll get everything you want with all that politeness.

There are no additional mouse clicks, a menu bar would require 1 click to open the menu prior to access to any item anyway.
There is only 1 additional hover at most and that's only for the obscure more tools menu whose only option you'd touch more than once in your lifetime is "Clear private data" that can be also accessed via Ctrl+Shift+Del.

Assuming this is a practical question and not a rhetorical one, you need to include more detail and clarification about the "recuperated" data and how it was derived. By a "salad of mixed up files", do you mean the files are all still separately present as files, but have simply lost their original folder identities? Or do you mean that somehow the data within all the different files has been run together in some giant mega-file? Is this an NTFS forensic exercise involving the MFT, metafiles, and file streams?

There is no bookmarks export/import feature on Opera Blink. You can backup bookmarks*.* afaik.
Content stays out of window after moving a single tab to another window.

Any time I had a question about Opera, I'd search through the old forum. <sigh> Since I won't be using the newest version of Opera anytime, I guess these forum are of no use for me.

It "is" completely closed now and therefore too late to retrieve mail that should have been backed up elsewhere if it was important.
