How about mimic the way OmniSideBar extension for firefox works?

There's no Home button, there's the Speed Dial button, which may serve as a substitute.

No seriously, the sidebar button is useful.
You cannot move the navigation icons from the sidepanel to some place else, the only thing you can do is remove them.

adding --disable-directwrite-for-ui to the shorcut solved the tabs issue.

still have the animated text thing going on. Nothing seems to make any difference.
We're talking about the Navbar (the one which has back/forward arrows, address/search bar) not the start page thing.
Directwrite doesn't have any effect.
Tried messing the the Windows ClearType settings, nothing...
So far tried:
Disabled extensions.
Disabled Hardware Acceleration.
No fonts were changed.
Flags reset to default.
ok, so still have this issue, but now in tabs, and when a theres an animation on a text box, the text gets all blurred, not just the animated one, but all of it.
Suggestions are appreciated.
I don't think there's a menu bar anymore. Now it's all about the Hamburger menu.

Ok, so this issue appears when Hardware Acceleration is off.
Yeah, the buttons removal would be quite a nice addition, specially when there are a bunch of icons (specially Extensions) occupying that space unnecessarily... Something similar to Firefox, a panel where one can store the icons, move from the panel to the toolbar or from the toolbar to the panel.
Same thing happens with the tabs, non focused tabs get blurred
