RE: Copying textOpera for Android
@conductor Web developers can block copying text with Javascript or CSS. On the desktop there are ways to get around it with extensions, view source or developer tools but those options don't seem to be available in any mobile browser.
You could try Reader mode as that seems to disable Javascript and CSS. If that doesn't work try saving the page as a PDF and finding a PDF viewer app that lets you copy text.

RE: How to allow notifications for a site again?Opera for Android
@okankocabiyik Strange, any site you dis-allowed should be listed under Denied sites. Maybe an Opera bug.
-
RE: How to allow notifications for a site again?Opera for Android
@okankocabiyik Go to Settings > Site settings > Notifications, tap the site you want to re-enable notifications for then tap Notifications and choose Allowed.

RE: [Solved]Can't sync, tells me incorrect passwordOpera for Android
@askew said in Can't sync, tells me incorrect password:
@leocg Thanks for replying. Well, if that is the case, then I'm proper screwed. I overwrote my old password in bitwarden when I updated my password. My passwords are some 128 characters long, randomly generated. Shouldn't opera just stick with the new password immediately after updating it? Kinda defeats the purpose of changing password in the first place.
I tried clearing the cache, just to see if that might be a solution, but still no luck.
Doesn't Bitwarden back up old passwords? That seems like a pretty essential feature for any password manager. I use KeePass2Droid and it makes a backup every time I change a password, and that has saved my butt more than once.

Bookmarklets BrokenOpera for Android
My Javascript bookmarklets stopped working after I updated Opera to the latest version.
Version of Android: 62.1.3146.57513
Phone model and manufacturer: Multiple including Samsung Note 4 and S6, LG G4, Honor 8 and Motorola E2
Your version of Opera for Android: Multiple including Android 6., 7 and 10
If the problem is with a page, a link to it: NA
If ad-blocker is enabled or not: Issue occurs with it on and with it off
If data savings is enabled or not: Issue occurs with it on and with it off
A screen-shot of the problem if it's related to something not showing as should: N/A
A description of the problem, including as much as information as possible: Javascript bookmarks do not work. They did in previous Opera versions up to and including version v. 61.2.3076.56749. They also work in Android Chrome 88.0.4324.181.
Steps to (try to) reproduce the issue:
Create a new bookmark. Enter Tweet it in the Name field and the following code in the Address field:javascript:location.href='http://twitter.com/intent/tweet/?text='+encodeURIComponent(document.title)+' &url='+encodeURIComponent(location.href);
(This will create a bookmarklet that share's the current page's title and URL on Twitter).
Open any web page in Opera. Go to bookmarks and select the Tweet it bookmarklet.
Expected behavior and actual one:
Expected: Twitter compose Tweet dialog opens with the current page's title and URI already entered.
Actual: Nothing happens at all.I hope this issue can be resolved. Bookmarklets are an important part of my daily workflow. I use them for sharing to social media and updating sites I manage.

RE: No Sync between Opera on Kindle Fire and Opera on PCOpera for Android
@jimjinnj I'm sure how to read that page. On mine I see things like syncer_ok and running that suggest everything's working. I expect that if something was wrong I'd see error somewhere.
-
RE: No Sync between Opera on Kindle Fire and Opera on PCOpera for Android
He means you should type opera://sync-internals/ in Opera's address bar on your Fire tablet. That will show some diagnostics which might help pinpoint what's wrong.

@yeswap I am using an honor phone so kinda huawai
But mine works with the Google Play store.
Is it possible to use opera from this one even if it is not the official app store or is that not possible?Just unless the issue might get fixed but at least then you dont have to be annoyed when it does not work. But as I said I am not sure about the App Gallery. I never used it so it was just a suggestion.
Older Huawei and Honor phones support the Play Store. You should use Opera from whichever store is preinstalled on your phone.
-
RE: AppGalleryOpera for Android
@leocg Recent Huawei phones can't access the Play Store due to dispute between the US and China. App Gallery is the official app store for these phones.

RE: Passwords kept invisibleOpera for Android
@lisette11 a pattern screen lock is no more effort than a swipe and hardly anymore than no lock at all.
Unless you live in a very well secured home and never go out, having no security on your phone seems pretty risky, especially if you are storing logins to your financial institutions on it or use SMS 2FA.
-
RE: Passwords kept invisibleOpera for Android
@crazyj81 I just tested with no default browser and passwords are still visible in Opera. It looks like only a PIN , password, pattern or biometric screen lock is required to be able to view passwords.
-
RE: Passwords kept invisibleOpera for Android
Do you have a screen lock (PIN, pattern, etc.) set up? That might be a requirement for seeing passwords.
Also, are you on a current version of Opera for Android? My Opera app updated to version 60.2 today and viewing passwords is available. It was also available in the previous version I had although I don't know what version number it had.
-
RE: Passwords kept invisibleOpera for Android
@lisette11 Go to Opera settings > Passwords > Saved passwords, tap the icon that looks like an eye next to the password you want to view. Authenticate with your lock screen PIN, pattern or fingerprint, etc when prompted to view your password.

RE: Cannot disable spell check feature from latest versionOpera for Android
@andreszs said in Cannot disable spell check feature from latest version:
After updating to version 60.1.300.55238 (latest) in my S7 with Android 8.0.0, the browser decided to start underlining non-english words in all textareas. This is absolutely annoying and there seems to be no way to disable it.
The phone is set to english but my primary language is spanish so I type in Spanish, but regardless, I dont't want any underlining at all in any language Whatsoever. Really, I'm fine, thank you, please stop it.
Kindly let me know if this idiotic behaviour can be disabled somehow. I'm reverting to version 59 as soon as I find an APK anywhere, thank you.
On Android, spellchecking in input fields is handled by the keyboard app, so check your keyboard's settings. For Gboard tap the Gboard icon in the app drawer and go to "Text correction" and deselect "Spell Check".

RE: Opera not loading Facebook pages on Extreme modeOpera Mini
@11518swiss said in Opera not loading Facebook pages on Extreme mode:
Hello, when using opera mini on Facebook (pages) while on Extreme mode it doesn't allow you to go to the next page when you hit 'see more'..
It keeps you on the same page and not the next one
Kindly assistLike it says on Data savings page, "Extreme maximizes data savings. Some websites may not work as expected".
Extreme mode is a proxy browser, pages are rendered on the server then compressed and re formatted before being sent to the browser. That architecture breaks some of the complex javascript used by Facebook.

I've never heard of a Samsung y7p. What Android version is it running. I think Opera now requires at least Android 5.0
