@leocg it also adds itself to the start up group, again, No Other browser does this. The arrogance of Opera's developers never ceases to amaze me. Even Chrome doesn't do this once you turn it off the first time.

This happens on every machine I have Opera installed in my home. I use PatchMyPC to keep my system updated, Opera doesn't autoupdate in the background and I don't use it regularly so I'm regularly presented with a new version when PatchMyPC runs. When it gets installed there's a new Opera icon pinned to my task bar. I'm betting it's because PatchMyPC uses a fully installer, that I get, but what I don't get is the arrogance of Opera to assume that everyone wants it pinned to the task bar. Even Chrome from the most arrogant company on the planet doesn't do that. Why does Opera and why doesn't Opera autoupdate in the background like Chrome and Edge do? Leaving a system vulnerable with outdated software isn't a hot idea.
