@burnout426
Many thanks to ya. A full reinstall did the trick.
(426 burnout has to be a Mopar fan.) Respect. (but my burnouts were made with a 427 "rat".)

RE: Opera unstable?Opera for Windows
@burnout426
I thankyou for your response to my post. I will try your suggestion.
I chose to keep my settings, etc. when I uninstalled. When I did each new installation my settings were automatically installed.
I don't use Opera Sync. I don't really know what it is.
Thanks again.

RE: Sluggish and crashingOpera for Windows
@cstallone Well I am getting on just fine with Vivaldi. I also have Firefox and Chrome installed. Vivaldi beats them both for speed and convenience. Opera used to be much better than it is today and it compared well with the other big players out there, but today it's at the bottom of the pile.

RE: Sluggish and crashingOpera for Windows
@cstallone I'm another long time user of Opera. It is getting buggy and unreliable. Sometimes it just freezes up and I have to kill it off with Control+Alt+Delete= Task Manager. Other times it randomly won't open a link. It presents a new tab but I just watch the "loading" image forever. This is becoming too tiresome so I came on here to see if anyone else is having problems recently. It doesn't happen with Firefox or Chrome.
Thanks for the mention of Vivaldi. I'll try it and dump Opera. -

Opera unstable?Opera for Windows
Version:82.0.4227.23 running on a desktop with Windows 7 Pro 64bit with 16m/b of memory installed. For a few weeks now (and maybe two or three Opera versions) I have been finding it a bit "flaky". Usually starts up OK but once its up and running it sometimes doesn't seem keen to open more than one or two tabs. The little indicator just keeps spinning and doesn't open the next tab. On two occasions it just froze up and I had to get CCleaner to force it to close down. It was been getting worse and recently it has been reluctant to even start up. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling downloaded from the Opera site. Is anyone else having this problem recently? I have read the instructions on things to do before posting a question but it is tricky during a freezeup situation. I have no problems with both Firefox or Chrome.

RE: [Solved]Missing Opea IconOpera for Windows
I found the launcher file you mentioned in C program files, opera. There is a simple generic icon there, not the big red "O".
The 2.4mb set up file is elsewhere, and it has a proper logo on it. - Opera for Windows

[Solved]Missing Opea IconOpera for Windows
I have just built a new desktop PC and installed Windows 7 Pro x64.
Installed the latest Opera direct from the website and it installed OK but there is only a generic icon instead of the big red "O" that we all know. I have reported it to the Opera team and the only response I get is to say they have received my message. Nothing further will be done (apparently). I have searched the forums for "missing icon" and "missing Opera logo", etc. The only posts that come up are to do with files and tabs, etc. so no help at all.
