I agree, it makes quite a bit more sense to open these links in a new tab, since by their nature of not having an <a href> tag, they never are used for site navigation. This means the user is forced to leave the current site to use this feature.

Don't autofocus permission requestSuggestions and feature requests
In recent times, more and more sites have started asking for notification permissions, many of which are visited only once and therefore don't need that permission. But when a user first navigates to these, the entire page freezes until the permission is either granted or denied. This is bad, because
a) it requires an extra click when the user actually wants to immediately interact with the page itself.
b) it forces a decision before the user has had a chance to interact and therefore evaluate whether the permission should be granted.
c) on very large monitors (eg. 40 inch 4K), the user is not necessarily aware of the popup until looking for it, since it is positioned at the very top - they will think the page has frozen.
As far as I'm aware Chrome has an implementation that pops these up from the address bar without giving them focus.
Thanks for the consideration! -
Always on option for battery saverOpera for Linux
Dear Opera team,
I am running Opera in a VM where it cannot see whether the physical system on AC power or not, and thinks it always is. Most of the time, though, it actually is not. Since it is easy to forget to turn on the battery saver manually when the browser is started, I would love for there to be an option to have the battery saver always on by default, and then manually turn it off when it is plugged in / I need the performance.
Thanks!

RE: Master password or automatically deleting all local dataOpera for Windows
Considering you want almost everything in your Opera profile to be private I suggest using a separate OS user account or encrypting your profile files with a third-party application.

Can't open context menu on touch screenOpera for Windows
I've recently begun using Opera on a Windows tablet and found that right-clicking (by long-pressing, as it's usually done) is extremely unreliable in Opera only. Only very seldom will the context menu actually open, most of the time it will count as a normal click despite waiting for the square that indicates that a right-click will be performed in all other applications.
I am using version 39.0.2256.15 on Windows 10 build 10586.420. -

I support this for exactly the same reason.

RE: Feature Inquiry: Support for Media Keys?Suggestions and feature requests
I have had some luck with using extensions (from the Chrome and Opera stores) to achieve this. You might want to try something like that, even if it is site-specific.

RE: chrome-like "create application shortcut from site" option (+)Suggestions and feature requests
Would love to have this as well, I am always working with many tabs and windows and for apps like music streaming, twitter, or email the task bar is more useful than the tab bar.

RE: why i have microsoft edge?Opera for Windows
He is likely referring to the Windows 10 specific skin, which can be disabled under opera://flags/#windows-10-skin.

RE: Recently closed tabs - Why only 10?Suggestions and feature requests
You can reopen many more tabs in the order they were closed by repeatedly pressing Control+Shift+T.
I have been able to restore everything I ever needed so far, so it reaches back at least several dozen. -
Plug-in exceptions not workingOpera for Windows
To avoid autoloading all sorts of annoyances I have set my plug-ins to Click-to-play, which works fine. Now I wanted to disable this on a page which has a Flash plugin without (apparently) any display, namely twitch.tv, where the chat cannot load without Flash. Then I added twitch.tv as well as [*.]twitch.tv to the exceptions, made sure the chat is not in a frame, but Flash still is not loaded. This is also true for the stream itself. adding *.twitch.tv is not possible and apparently not correct. Any help?

RE: POLL: Tab bar features? Tab stacking / grouping?Opera for Windows
I would very much love to have some sort of grouping available, if possible with the option to save individual groups. I am seriously lacking that, and it makes browsing quite difficult as I tend to have loads of tabs at the same time for different topics.

RE: Multitasking on Android loses opened tabsOpera Mini
Thanks rafaelluik, it seems to be bugged then. I'll try and see if I can get together definite steps to reproduce it and file a bug report.

Changing network adapter disconnects OperaOpera for Windows
Using Opera 22.0.1471.70 on Windows 7, upon changing the network adapter which provides internet access (example: I'm on my LAN, disable that adapter and now connect to a WLAN network), Opera does not follow through and will be unable to access the internet until being restarted. On a side note Opera always takes several minutes to be able to access the internet again after waking my computer up from 'Sleep'.
Is anyone able to help me with especially the first issue? -
RE: I can't download files on opera mini?Opera Mini
You will have to give further information. Where and how does downloading files fail?

RE: Download speedOpera Mini
If you do not require to measure the speed specific to this download, there are speedtest apps available.

Multitasking on Android loses opened tabsOpera Mini
I am using Android 2.3.3 and Opera Mini 7.5.5, and sometimes when I leave Opera Mini for another app (concretely Whatsapp through a notification) all opened tabs are gone, as if I started afresh. My phone had in one specific instance 275/330MB RAM used (excluding Whatsapp, but that consumes near to nothing), and upon going back (I tried both going back to the main screen and starting from there as well as switching with the task manager) the tab was lost. I figure Android ending it to free memory is neither sure nor impossible. Independent of that tabs should be saved no matter how Opera is exited. Is there anything specific I am doing wrong, is this a known bug, or will it be resolved?
