In the past week I have started having a variety of issues, seems like it is since the last update. I get the Too many redirects issue. I also have websites that previously worked fine, and still do work fine in Chrome no long work, things like not allowing me to press a button. This is an issue I have seen in the past on one or two websites, but seems more ubiquitous now. I am also having issues with some websites claiming an invalid reference to an object, that still work fine on Chrome as well. It seems like some of these issues started happenning right after I reset my settings to attempt to fix the too many redirects issue. I have been unable to get Opera back to working like it was prior to resetting my settings. Time to revert back to Chrome it seems sadly.

RE: Amazon Promotion ExtensionOpera for Windows
@fmad Totally agree, I have been using Opera for a while now, and am getting increasingly annoyed by the crap that they are foisting on us now. It used to be a really great lightweight browser without all this crap, time to switch again.

@rarscal Yep, Opera is getting pretty bad honestly. Too much crap that you cannot disable or remove, too often settings change when an update occurs.

RE: How can I get rid of the sidebar?Opera for Windows
@ceico I have not had issues with it reappearing lately. Last one or two updates of Opera seem to have left my settings as is.

RE: How can I get rid of the sidebar?Opera for Windows
@sgunhouse said in How can I get rid of the sidebar?:
If they add something new (most recently Instagram) to the sidebar, they want you to be able to see it. It shouldn't appear after regular (minor) updates unless you have something enabled that is trying to notify you - if it appeared recently, try disabling some of the items in the sidebar.
That's nice, but I don't care about what they add to the sidebar, I don't want to see it, that's why I turn it off. What is the point of having settings if they keep getting changed on updates?

RE: How can I get rid of the sidebar?Opera for Windows
It's not just that it keeps coming back, but messenger in particular, sometimes others, keep getting added back to it. This is a setting that should stay permanent through upgrades, and like you, I am getting annoyed enough by it to switch back to a different browser.

I don't know how many times I have had to hide the damned sidebar, not to mention remove facebook messenger form it. It gets extremely annoying that these settings do not stay set.
