Leocg, many thanks for your reply, it worked!
I've found autosave.win in the \AppData\Roaming\Opera Mail\Opera Mail\sessions folder and deleted it.
Opera Mail is starting normally again (and my heart rate is getting back to normal...)

Hello,
This morning, I started Opera Mail/1.0 and I it crashed one second later. This also happened at subsequent attempts. Just before it crashes, I can see that there are multiple mail tabs open.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
This is the crash dump:

Thanks for the instructions. I've used it to prevent Opera from updating on a laptop that's being used in a remote part of the world with (very) slow internet speeds. (Opera was chosen as the default web browser because it has Turbo mode, which speeds up web browsing a lot there.)
What way would you recommend to update Opera when the laptop is in a region with good internet speed? (operaautoupdate.exe, operaautoupdate.licenses and operaautoupdate.version have been renamed)
Can I simply reinstall Opera with the newest version and/or do I have to restore the operaautoupdate files with the original file names?
Thanks.
Pale Moon (a Firefox derivative) has a special build optimized for Windows XP and/or computers with Atom processor:
http://www.palemoon.org/palemoon-atom.shtml
IMO, this is currently the best (certainly the most responsive) browser for Win XP.
Thanks for the info. In the Windows section of the old operaprefs.ini file, most of the lines were ending with a '0', except these, ending with a '2':
Document Window=0,0,942,888,2
Contacts Panel Window=0,0,738,865,2
Compose Window=0,0,1280,933,2
Application Window=1295,-5,1097,964,2
Mail Window=0,0,1076,933,2
Thanks again.
Thanks, burnout426. Renaming operaprefs.ini did the trick.
Hello,
Since a couple of days, Opera Mail starts up on my secondary monitor. I can't find a setting that will make it start on the primary monitor again. Where is this setting saved?
Thanks for your help.
After all, something did go wrong with this mail move from O 12.17 to OM 1: In OM's Advanced Preferences window, unchecking Notifications for new messages and Program event sounds was not persistent and had no effect.
I noticed that in OM's operaprefs.ini, the line Show Notification For New Messages=0 and the complete section [Sounds] was not present. I imported both missing elements from the operaprefs.ini of 12.17 and it seems to work.
@sgunhouse @tomwgf: The current OperaMail installer (Opera-Mail-1.0-1040.i386.exe) offers the option to import all email messages and email settings, right at the beginning of the installation process. It worked for me; more than 20,000 messages in 7 email accounts copied correctly from Opera 12.17 into OperaMail.
Importing email account passwords from 12.17 didn't work.
Would copying wand.dat and opcert6.dat from 12.17 to the latest version 26 also work?
I'd like to upgrade from 12.17 to 26.
Thanks for your help.

Pages load very slowly or not at all.
Currently using 12.17 , but the problem was also present in 12.16.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
