Hi, Using Opera for a long time and always updated to the latest for security / benefits and improvements. However its sad to say that version 60 is not to my liking. The way version 58 looked was easier on the eyes. This new version hurts the eyes. The color is too bright or too dark. Speed Dial became very small and if I make it bigger, then bookmarks get big too. If I click Speed Dial folders, the font text inside is blurry. The side bar which I was using used to be black even with the light theme and the light theme looked a lot better.
The top book marks bar, address bar, everything has no borders its just 1 big white space.

Sorry but this new look is not for me. This is not a matter of getting used to and "adapting" - this is bad UI. If this is on purpose, can anyone show me where I can download version 58? Or how to fully Uninstall and remove all traces of Opera?

Edit : Also the Speed Dial is not just tiny, but it takes longer to load. For example if I close all the tabs, the last page is blank then 10 seconds later the Speed Dial icons come, and the folders have blurry fonts.

@marmottin Hi I'm sorry I think I prefer I want to completely Uninstall version 60. I am afraid to even go back to version 58 because it will just update itself. There is not an option to stop automatic updates?
I really really loved this browser but this has gone too far. It hurts my eyes too much.
I'm sorry if I am wrong here but for me this is painful and heart breaking.

The bookmarks Side panel does not show all the bookmarks after update to the latest Opera.

Another issue is the browser is now more sluggish, less responsive and slow. Even after clearing all history, etc. After less than one hour of use the browser becomes sluggish.

Edit : Reverted back to Opera Version 66 -- Too afraid to go into "About" section because it starts to automatically download update.

Is there any way to Stop updates?

@burnout426 Hi there, thank you so so much for taking your time to write down the directions. This is really good advice, however there is only one problem. When I launch the browser, I just want to get my work done. Things done like daily tasks and when I am in a hurry to have to get information I need. I don't have the time to mess around with all of this which is why stability and function are so important. I appreciate your advice however, but as of now I do have other more stable browsers (firefox and chromium portable) both of which are getting the job done. I love Opera browser for its unique abilities but at this rate, it is difficult to trust as a reliable solution.

Deleted bookmarks keep reappearing no matter how many times you delete them.

Reset sync data by going to

How to reproduce :

1. Have 2 or more devices (Windows and Android)

2. Have quite a large number of bookmarks ready to Delete

3. Delete bookmarks from first Windows device

4. Start the second Windows device, and book marks from that device will sync back to the first device regardless of whether they were already deleted or not.

5. Delete bookmarks off the first device again

6. Go to https://sync.opera.com and reset sync.

7. Log out, close Opera on both devices, and restart first device, then Log In to begin Syncronization

8. Start Second, or third, or both 2nd and 3rd devices

9. All of those deleted bookmarks will be back regardless of the time they were deleted.

The Sync is not acting as a Sync feature, its acting as a Backup feature, and if that is the case, then its not keeping snapshots allowing users to have a snap shot of their bookmarks rather than forcibly re-adding deleted bookmarks back onto their devices.

If you play around with a few combinations of the steps above, you will notice that bookmark Sync feature is broken and that can be a really frustrating experience once you have set up your Main 1 or 2 devices, and later you fire up your Android version from your box or from a phone you have not used in a while, all of the old book marks start populating back into your new Setup.

Not good, please fix your Syncing, and if it is a backup feature, then please seperate the two into Sync or snapshot. As a "main" browser, this is very crucial to workflow and when bookmarks are out of order, or old deleted bookmarks start to show and get in the way, it becomes very frustrating, specially for those who are constantly doing research and information gathering for their work or school projects.

Also, this is not a new problem, its been happening for a year.

Updating to 69 causes constant crashing loop where the browser will simply crash, then restart. All extensions went missing, when later checked if they were actually missing in extensions section, they were all disabled.
Speed Dial went completely missing.
Weather widget, just another annoyance no one asked for and is forced on the user
Twitter is fine for those who want it but this isn't the problem with Opera
The problem is they can't build a browser that updates without messing up somehow and taking away the user's data.
Why is it that the Speed Dial just disappeared? Why did extensions disable? Why does the browser keep going into a Launch-Crash-Relaunch bootloop cycle?
Had to revert back to 68 from backup and had to fully disable updates by deleting task scheduler, renaming updater, and --disiable-update in launch options.
Whatever is causing the crashes and issues has to be fixed, thats the point of the update. No body wants to start over again when each new major update comes out.
I have been on Chrome since the last time Opera had a big update blunder and have not had a single issue updating Chrome (or Chromium) not only are faster, but much much more reliable than Opera has been as of late, I have lost trust and faith in Opera completely this time, second time these Start - Crash - Relaunch boot loop cycle, loosing all speed dials, Slow Startups, All extensions magically just turning off, Opera user login not working, all these bugs right after updating to 69.
And the funny thing is, some people are not having these issues, or are not noticing the minor issues that are leading to bigger issues later.
In terms of reliability, trust, dependability, lets just say that Opera icon will be fighting for space on the desktop, and the desktop has PLENTY of space, even so, the only thing that remains is that beloved O icon, just as a reminder of how good Opera used to be and how bad it is now that only the Icon itself is the pleasing part remaining.

Thank you Opera Team! Wow.... 1 year. Let's not let these type of things go unnoticed anymore. Thank you so so much, now I can have that beer that's been in my fridge forever.

Will this feature ever be fixed?

Can we have a button that forces Tabs to sync between Windows browser and Android browser?

There is nothing worse than having to open Opera in Windows expecting the tabs you had going in your phone/tablet will just magically be there but more often than not, they are not there. When I say more often, it is a lottery winning ticket to see Tabs.

This has been one of the longest annoyances and we need to get this fixed because it is very important. Think of how useful this feature is for someone who needs 1 device to be able to continue their work on another device. It has been one of the best features ever to be made in browsers.

So this is more of a begging rather than a request to fix a 'bug' as it has been a very extremely excruciatingly long time this has been going on. People rely on this technology, for work, school, etc. Please make open Tabs syncing work. Please add something on the side bar that Forces it to sync.

I forgot to ask you if there is a "Device" page where each specific device can be removed until Bookmarks there are fixed before Loging into so that they won't upload 'junk' bookmarks back onto the server? So far I have not been able to find this option, but if it exists it would make things a lot easier to remove the problem device temporarily and help for resetting Sync data on server.

All of what you are saying sounds reasonable, I just don't have the time to go through all of that. But yes, that is a bug and I have gone through it many times. The old book marks would not get deleted, and make their way back.

Right now, the easiest and fastest method I have come up with is,

on Device 3: I deleted /Appdata/Local/Opera Software and /Appdata/Roaming/Opera Software

I copied /Roaming/Opera Software from the device where everything works properly, To the device from which the out dated bookmarks kept syncing back.

So far it is all good, but yes Opera Sync has bugs and I am sure the developers know about it. It may not happen to everyone, or may not even be reported. But I don't have the time to become a beta tester at this point.

Hello, I have tried the following steps which according to other sources should work, but as of the latest version Version:62.0.3331.xx this is no longer possible.

Windows 10 x64 OS.

Fresh Re-install / Profile and Settings Recovery :

1. Copy this Folder :

C:\Users[User]\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable

2. To a Backup location on another drive.

3. Re-install Opera. Don't launch it.

4. Copy backed up Profile folder back to User data location

5. Launch Opera. Result : Opera adds default bookmarks to Speed Dial. Extentions Folder in Roaming profile is empty! Opera deletes Extentions, but does not offer a way to Sync them to your account.

You have to start all over again with all the Extentions and setings.

In addition to this problem, when you Sign in to Opera Synchnronization, It has also not only added its Default bookmarks, but duplicated them!

Tried from Backup on Same PC and Tried from Backup to a new PC.
This test was performed 3 times for both, total of 6 times. In the past this procedure was possible in order to retain all settings and extentions, but it is not working even after Uninstalling and Re-installing Fresh.

AppData/Roaming gets over written by the new Install every time. Is anyone willing to run these tests and figure out a solution?

What can one do if they want to transfer Opera to a laptop and use it on the go?

Speed dial thumbnails, 9/10 times when starting Opera, Speed Dial colors are either washed out, or brightly colored Neon. It takes multiple restarts just to get the Speed dial icons colors to look Normal again. This was never an issue in the older versions. No matter which GPU, AMD, Nvidia, Intel. Its the same. I am sick and tired of having to constantly restart Opera just to get the Speed Dial Icon Colors to look
acceptable.

I have tried turning GPU Acceleration On/Off and it does nothing. I have updated drivers, tried on various GPUs. Its a problem with Opera. Its the only browser that discolors thumbnails.
