Funny. I went back to Coast for the first time since November, and wanted to see if you ever fixed this issue. Nope. And look how well it's working for Coast: none of my friends use it, because when they saw the frame on a shared link, they immediately assumed you were violating their privacy. Perhaps it's time to make a browser that helps the users as opposed to hiding things from them, frustrating them, and worst of all, hurting the brand name of Opera.

Sigh. You guys are so great (Opera VPN is fantastic) but sometimes you just can't get out of your own way.

I recently went to Spain (from US)and used Opera Coast to search. The tool switched to Google.es for its results. Now that I'm back in the US, it is still defaulting to Google.es! I cleared data using the Settings switch but same problem. I've changed search engines to bing and yahoo and back to Google, same problem. I've also just gone to Google.com hoping it would drop a cookie or something but no dice

How can I change the "Google search" built into the coast search back to Google.com?

So, by itself, this didn't work. I wound up tossing the icon from the home screen, closing Coast and tossing it from memory rotation via the double tap of home button as you suggested... But also had to "clear cache" in the Opera Coast settings screen, which is in the main iPhone settings app (scroll down to near bottom).

Once I did all that, Opera Coast correctly identified the icon for the site (techmeme.com)and I was able to add it back to the home screen.

For some reason, Opera Coast no longer shows the favicon for techmeme.com. I've removed and added the site back in. The source shows an apple-touch-icon href that works but Opera Coast can't seem to find it. Instead it just shows a white tile with the url of the site.

Any suggestions to get Opera to refresh the icon?

So, still not done. And now, I find myself having to tell people NOT to use Opera Coast, because when you share links, you still put http://opcoa.st/[4-letter code] and a "Coast" header bar WITH NO WAY TO GET RID OF IT. The recipient can't even get the original link back. It's really frustrating, and it's ruining an otherwise great experience with your browser.

It's sad, really. The very thing you were hoping would work as a viral spreader is actually causing some of your biggest fans to drop the product. I don't think that's what you intended.

You still have a chance to save the day, but I worry that as each new user discovers how bad the "share link" experience is, the less chance you have to stay a viable browser option. As myeturn said, lots of options out there.

Using Opera Coast (latest version) on Ipad Air 2, on IOS 9.1 in landscape mode with a Logitech keyboard. Tapping on "search or enter address" clears the screen, but the text I type does not appear on the screen. The "tiles" do appear to update, so seach is doing something... but just not visible.

When I swipe downwards on the screen, I do get a pane appearing and then text appears.

So, seems like a bug; I would expect the search text to appear on the screen as I type (similar to what happens on my iphone).

Is this just me?

I don't mind you trying to spread the word by putting the Coast bar on shared links and rewriting the url with your own redirector, though I'd turn it off if I could. But the worst part is that others provide an "X" on the bar so that the recipient can turn off the bar and get the original page and URL back after it loads; you don't. Can you please add that to your link redirector system so that recipients can get to the original URL and page?

Hi, long-time user of opera coast. Still figuring things out. For example viewing the safety of the link allows me to get a copy of the link by long pressing on the URL and tapping the copy button.

Wondering why it doesn't paste into various apps like Google Docs. It does paste into apps like Mail. Can you guys make sure you were appropriately managing the acquisition onto the clipboard so other apps can receive the URL when pasted?
