I am running Opera Mini on a s40 platform (Nokia 301), and every time it asks me permission to access the network because Opera is not from a trusted supplier. Surely it is, considering Nokia themselves use it for their app store????!!

Which Mini version, how was it installed, or pre-installed?
You can try installing Mini from m.opera.com, and select a build signed by certificate (Thawte/Verisign) present on your phone.

Secondly, what about auto night mode, i.e. after a certain time of the day, it will automatically enter night (dimmed) mode!

What about it? Cloudy/sunny day, latitude on northern/southern hemisphere, dark/bright room?
Personally I have a phone with automatic brightness detection (android), and switched it off as it was always wrong anyway. Is there a s40 pone with such feature?

Thirdly, why is Opera's cut and paste not globally recognized by the phone? I.e. when copying text from a web site, it will not be recognised elsewhere on the phone, nor will fullscreen editing be able to use this copied text!!

Every time at the starting of opera mini v8.0 and connecting to internet, it ask for permission to connect to the network. Its very disturbing. How can i make it 'auto connect'.
Every time it asks for permission to save something to memory card and same thing happens when trying to read something from memory card. Very disturbing.

Install a build signed with Thawte or Verisign certificate, depending on what certificates you have on your phone.

That's the web site that checks IP you connect from, and decides what is "the best language/content for you". Many sites are afflicted by this idea nowadays, like yahoo, google, facebook etc.

4.5 is as new as 8.0, it depends on phone capabilities (memory, screen width etc.) which one you get.

What is the phone? What is the problem?

One of reasons could be that you have a "pre-installed" mini on your phone. Then updating from m.opera.com would not work, as this is signed with a different certificate. However, update from the OVI store should work.
If there is no preinstalled mini, then try builds signed with different certificates on m.opera.com (verisigh, thawte).
Or provide us more details - how exactly you are trying to install mini, from which site (or sd card?).

And its a shame you have to moderate messages before they get posted. Now I know there are many others who write nasty things about opera on your forum.

I don't think there is a hard limit in mini. Rather something on BB/mobile network, a timeout or a bug.

When does it happen? On restarting Mini, or when entering certain sites, or after some other non-default options are in use?
Does re-installing mini (and removing its data, bookmarks can later be synchronized with link) help?

corzioli, what makes you think Link doesn't work? wfm, although syncing takes several minutes, up to .5h
