RE: Can't open private window from taskbar iconOpera for Windows
@burnout426 I have tested disabling just syncing of settings - when I turn that particular one off, without changing anything else, it starts without any problems. Overall, interesting idea, but one does need specific skills to read log files, which I personally do not posses.

RE: Can't open private window from taskbar iconOpera for Windows
I agree with you both - this problem is present for quite a few months and no fix is to be seen...
Unfortunately, there are two options - one, there is some particular corrupted setting, which cause Opera to fail to start in private mode, or two, the synchronization itself is corrupted.
In the first case, simply changing one setting would be sufficient to fix it (but which one is creating this synchronization error?) and in the second case, disabling the synchronization is the only option for now (and let's be hones, how often do you change your Opera setting? - I personally set everything as I desire and stay with it, but I understand that some may not be as steady with it as I am). -
RE: Can't open private window from taskbar iconOpera for Windows
@marri said in Can't open private window from taskbar icon:
I have the same issue with Opera One as well as Opera GX and I was able to locate, what at least I think is, the reason to it - mainly if I go to "Setting" -> "Advanced synchronization settings" and disable there the synchronization of the settings, I am able to initially start Opera GX in private mode without any problems, but I do not know why it is so...
Do you share the same relationship in that matter ?

Opera GX not starting in private modeOpera for Windows
Hi, I am using Opera GX [LVL 5 (core: 109.0.5097.108)] on Windows 10 and I have this issue, that every time I right click from task bar to open a private window, it won't load and freezes till i forced quit, but when I open Opera GX (regular window/card) first and create a new private window after that, it works without any problems.
I was able to locate, what at least I think is, the reason to it - mainly if I go to "Setting" -> "Advanced synchronization settings" and disable there the synchronization of the settings, I am able to initially start Opera GX in private mode without any problems.
Is there a known fix to it? Is there some corrupted setting, which cause Opera GX to fail to start in private mode?
Do I simply have to change one particular setting, which synchronization is creating this error?
I would like to keep my settings synchronization turned on... How can it be fixed ? -
RE: Nvidia features stopped workingGeneral
@burnout426 Currently, I managed to move to Opera GX and I plan to stay there for a while, or at least, until some next update breaks something crucial here, but if I am ever in need of moving back to Opera One, I will surly experiment with that, provided that the current faults remain present, or some new emerge in the course of time...

RE: Nvidia features stopped workingGeneral
@burnout426 I am not entirely sure which exact build number caused the features to stop working (I do not check everyday if there was an update), but the facts are, that earlier both features were working without any problems - I have not changed anything on my end - the only change was that, the Opera One updated itself one day, which I noticed by the missing features (I think I have also received this welcoming page, which opens automatically after an update, when starting Opera)
Now I switched to Opera GX and both features are working there just fine, and I have synchronized the Opera GX using Opera account and I have there the exact same extensions as well as setting as I had previously in Opera One, so all is pointing to that, that the issue is located somewhere in one of the newer version of Opera One. -
RE: Nvidia features stopped workingGeneral
So it turns out, that currently Opera One is simply broken in therms of those Nvidia features and even a re-installation, nor reset, can fix that...
All that is left, untill the Developers fix that, is to switch to Opera GX (both features work there for me) or some other functioning browser - General

RE: Nvidia features stopped workingGeneral
@leocg You really thing that it might be the case? I doubt that resetting settings like "number of columns on starting page" will make any difference...
I like my settings and I have my synchronization enabled so that they stay the same, so maybe I will make an alternative test of that.
I have already Opera gx installed and all the flags are default there, so I will log into my account there and synchronize the settings of Opera gx with the settings of Opera one and that will show whether the settings are responsible for that - if the features stop working in Opera gx after that, than it is their fault, otherwise, if the features keep working in Opera gx after that, it proves that this malfunction is not settings/flags related and I probably have to reinstall Opera one to solve this... -
RE: Nvidia features stopped workingGeneral
@leocg I did not change any of the flags, nor settings, during the updates, so I hardly think that would change anything, but that is also an option, but alas, I do not know which setting to change, nor which flags to reset...

RE: Nvidia features stopped workingGeneral
@leocg So it turns out it's something on my end, so I can switch to Opera gx or maybe a reinstalling of Opera One will help
-
RE: Nvidia features stopped workingGeneral
@leocg As to: Lucid Model/RGX - it must be disabled in order to features be working - if it is on, that the features simply won't kick in and I have it disabled on my end
As to: opera://flags set to default - it is already set to default in my Opera OneAre the features working on Your end in Opera One ?
-
RE: Opera not starting in private modeGeneral
@leocg I installed Opera GX and it is not having such a problem there. Is it a common issue?
Is someone also facing this problem only with regular Opera (Opera One) ? -
RE: Nvidia features stopped workingGeneral
@leocg Hi, and how is it looking on Your end ?
Are both features also working with Opera GX on Your computer ?? -
RE: Nvidia features stopped workingGeneral
@leocg Just to update and to provide additional information: I have just downloaded Opera GX and there both Nvidia features are working without any problem, even though it is officially not supported, so what can be done in order to have them both also working in the regular Opera browser (Opera One) ??
-
RE: Nvidia features stopped workingGeneral
@leocg Technically, Opera is not mentioned as supported browser, bu it doesn't change the fact, that both features were working without any problems before. Something apparently changed in build in one of the last updates and now it is broken, so what can be done to restore both functionalities ?
