@meninodal This is kind of an issue Opera as a whole is suffering.

RE: Please allow ability to hide any feature of the users choiceFeedback
@Slightly-Salty Just use Firefox.
I migrated the majority of my things over, and only use Opera for very specific needs that Firefox can't manage without Workspaces (Or an equivalent feature).
If you don't need that, then FF is a lot easier to use, and more customizable in the way you're asking for. -
RE: General Opera GX Feedback Topic V2Opera GX
It actually used to be good.
Then they started removing features, dumbed them down into being useless, or added things I can't imagine people actually want.Though my primary issues are the removed capability to use multiple letters as a Workspace icon (ie: Instead of using a book, you could use AC, DJ, EL, etc. etc. etc.), tabs being removed from their workspaces and into the "first" or "main" workspace (So you have to manually select and move them back), and the constant crashes when the Browser tries to sync "significant" changes to bookmarks from a linked device.
It has no issue syncing from a fresh startup. Only has an issue after the fact, when I try to sync maybe 100 bookmark changes all at once.
I actually had to completely reinstall the browser once because of this issue, and almost had to do it again just a bit earlier because of the same issue.The first time it crashed almost 50 times in a row, around 2-4 every time I opened the browser. Which I did multiple times. Then I just gave up, and resigned myself to logging into my sites again after reinstalling.
This happened again a bit earlier, but only managed maybe 10-13 crashes. I stopped paying attention after 8 as I tried to bookmark some tabs I hadn't saved and wouldn't remember the names of, but it continued crashing for a little longer.This was never an issue a few years back, and only in recent times (2024 onwards). Which is after the browser started getting worse.
Thankfully, I backup my bookmarks habitually, and have already migrated the vast majority of my things to Firefox. Far better browser overall, the only downside being no workspaces, which is the ONLY reason I continue to use Opera. Other than the fact I refuse to touch Edge (For longer than absolutely necessary, which is the length of time I need to download Firefox), which has a workspace-equivalent.Beyond those personal issues, there's the fact it has never, and likely will never, succeeded at syncing opened tabs, settings, even if they were selected.
The only thing it has ever managed to Sync is Extensions (Doesn't matter much unless you use a TON), Bookmarks (Which also doesn't matter if you export them like you should be), History (Useful I guess?), and maybe Passwords, though I haven't had a password saved on a browser in years, so can't comment on whether that still works.Opera used to be good. Maybe it's just GX that has gone down the drain, but the standard version had changes a while back that I also really didn't like, which is why I dropped it.
Now, Opera's kinda like that one creepy uncle/cousin that nobody wants to talk to, but kinda have to because they're convenient for certain things.If anyone has a browser with a workspace-equivalent that isn't MS Edge, or a hot steaming pile of garbage, feel free to drop it here.
Or don't, because this post will probably be deleted by moderators since it doesn't bend over backwards praising Opera.
Wouldn't be the first time I've seen a post get deleted because someone told me to use something other than Opera if I'm having issues with it.I honest am getting sick and tired of the issues I have with the browser. I know not everyone will agree with me, or even experience the same issues (Though the tabs moving seems to be consistent across 2 different devices). I'm just "hanging on" in the hopes it'll start improving again. Or simply stop getting worse, while I hope for a replacement browser, while not knowing what in the hell I should be searching for to find one.

RE: [Duplicated]Opera Sync doesn't workOpera for computers
Apparently sync either doesn't work at all, only partially works, or works just fine.
Just had my bookmarks "sync" from my PC to my laptop, and it didn't even sync the bookmarks properly, as only a few of the new ones got popped over to the other device, while still failing to sync the older bookmarks.
How am I supposed to delete all those bookmarks in Trash if I can't even access them? -
[Duplicated]Opera Sync doesn't workOpera for computers
Opera Sync doesn't work.
Or in a way, it does, but not in the way that I feel most people use it for: Bookmarks.My Opera manages to sync the workspaces, but not my Bookmarks.
And it's never synced Open Tabs in all the years I've used it, and yes, before some idiot says "oh well you should make sure that was toggled on", it's been on via "Sync Everything" for more than 3 years.
It's also never synced Settings, always have to manually change them every time I use a new device, or reinstall Opera due to some issue with my computer.When I go to Opera Sync (The Opera page, not in Settings), it says I have 12 Open Tabs (Utterly false, I have 50+), and 2322 Bookmarks (Possibly accurate, I don't care enough to count them), but that's for this account.
My other account has "5048 Bookmarks", which is not only absurd (I've never gotten that high), but also absolutely inaccurate. that account has less than 50 Bookmarks, and if it's supposed to have 5K+... then where the hell are they, cause I certainly don't see them.Sometimes it manages to sync Bookmarks cross-device (Computer to Computer, Mobile isn't worth the effort), but that's few and far between, even when both devices are turned on, both browsers are open, and both devices have Sync enabled with the exact same Settings.
I'm at the point where I might just go back to Firefox. The only reason I continue to use Opera, is because of the utility offered by Workspaces.
I know this sounds like a rant (And to be fair, it is), but it's gotten to the point where I'm not just being inconvenienced. I'm being annoyed and inconvenienced.
I know it takes time to sync things. But I think 30+ minutes is a long time, especially if it's not even Syncing everything (Both literally and figuratively, no idea what's going on with those Sync statistics).Edit: Maybe I just need to clear my Sync data? Maybe that would fix this issue? I don't know, and unless a dev or something confirms that should fix it, then I'm simply not going to further inconvenience myself by doing so.

RE: AdguardOpera add-ons
@tnts You should probably check your User Rules, I've broken things by using them haphazardly.

RE: AdguardOpera add-ons
@2byorha Uncertain, it seems to be working on my side, but this is a couple hours after you, so try again, if it works, great.
If it doesn't, try another browser to see if AG is working there. uBO is another popular alternative, though it doesn't seem to get updated as often as AG. Unsure if that's because it rarely needs to be though, as I update both of them at the same time. -
RE: AdguardOpera add-ons
@shiningstardiane That's fine. What YT is doing is amusingly dubiously legal in the EU.
@Marigold787 Try updating now, if it doesn't work, do it again tomorrow, had to wait a day for it to work once before.
A reminder to anyone using Opera GX: If your AB gets blocked, you can use the Player in the sidebar.

RE: AdguardOpera add-ons
@youtubesucks Sounds like you were using a trial for the paid version.
Never had that issue.
And since you don't seem to understand this: Every adblocker will have issues with YouTube because of their efforts to stop people from using them on their platform.
That's why you're supposed to update them manually every 1-3 days to ensure they keep working. -
RE: AdguardOpera add-ons
@shiningstardiane Just update.
If that doesn't work, and you're using OperaGX, use Player (It's in the Sidebar) until it does. - Opera add-ons

still sucks that i have to keep updating this filter
Welcome to YouTube being desperate.
The CEO must want another Yacht. Or any of a thousand different things rich people seem to delude themselves into believing they need, but actually don't.
Earlier this year (And further), it worked just fine without constant manual updates being necessary.
And I guarantee you: Another adblocker won't be any different.@2byorha: They fixed the filter, it OK now.
It's been detected, ~2 hours of not working.
If it happens, just wait it out, nothing else to do beyond paying for Premium.
A possible alternative is the Opera GX Player, but I believe that has ads as well. -
RE: AdguardOpera add-ons
@2byorha
If you have the issue again, there's a good chance it's the base Opera adblocker, just had to add an Exception because YT was blocking it. -
RE: AdguardOpera add-ons
@2BYoRHa
Update your filters, that fixed the issue for me.
Though it should have happened automatically. -
RE: AdguardOpera add-ons
@shrekswamp12345: YouTube very much so does detect it, and is even stopping videos from playing outright as of today.

Workspace Del ConfOpera for Windows
How do you turn this on again:
Hit "Don't show again" on accident, and now I can't seem to find anything to turn it back on.

RE: opera autofil forumOpera for Windows
@nihad9090
Those are one and the same.
You can't have the auto-fill forms without a password assigned to them, it's literally impossible.Account Sync should handle this either way, and if for some reason it isn't, then you need Support.
